Summer is coming, and this means surf season is almost upon us. Water is warming up, Boston is shoveling the last of its snow, PA people moving back to NJ, Rocka is firing a-grade drama consistently. This is a thread for you to post your prognosis, expectations, and goals for this magical time. Since its inevitable for a summer to go by without someone b1tching about the flatness at their secret and favorite spot, and their own personal dry spell, here is, also, your chance to start preemptively complaining about Asian titties you see on web cams. All yours.
Dammit Pump you beat me to it! Maybe if you live in California it is. Prognosis - the water will get warmer, the swells will get smaller, the crowds will get larger. Expectations - (see prognosis) Goals - Enjoy spring while it lasts, stay positive during the summer while groveling and refine my quiver of small wave tools, and keep reminding myself fall is not far behind.
June, July, August. When the waves are surfable and most pleasant overall. Basic knowledge. Didn't you vote "expert" in that other tread?
Ive only seen references to surfing season when I take my daughter to the Hollister store (which she has to buy with her own money).
Summer is already here in my neck of the woods. Record high temps last weekend (low 90s) and again this weekend. The rainy season seems to have begun a month and a half early. It is flat as fock. Gonna be doing a lot less surfing and/or a lot more driving soon. I'll be glad when October rolls around again and the cool dry air of the first cold front hits my skin.
Ditched the old Durango -got a new Honda CR-V, so I'm ready for trips upcoast. I'm too old to jump off bridges and get thrown out of The Rapids waterpark like we did back in the day. If lady luck smiles, a trip to Ireland. Slab waves n' smokey whiskey.
I love warm water and warm weather. I hate tourons and flat spells. Thus, summer is a frustrating time for me.
