Personally- right now is my favorite 'surfing season' if you can call it that... I will call it spring season.
    1. The water is still cold enough to keep most people out of the water. But warmer then 39 degrees..
    2. The air is overall warmer- making it warmer to surf with the warmer water.
    3. Still most of the summer pros will not paddle out yet.
    4. South swells after all the sand bars are set up from a winter of north swell. I love south swells.
    5. It's light out longer.
    6. No beach badges or swimmers.
    7. More consistent.
    8. No summer pros (did I already mention that?)

    my prediction?
most flat hot windless crowded summer ever on east coast and some forum members will relapse and end up in the big house (again)

Can't tell if this is a "****" evasive maneuver or a jab at NE. Good job regardless.

I suspect Towelie is just yankin' our chain about "surf season."
That being said, I love summer surfing! I'm out of the wet suite, can surf, drink a beer on the beach, repeat err day long... I can still find uncrowded peaks with a little searching, and It's never crowded at 7:00 AM.

My goal this season is to surf EVERY day I'm in CB. This means no massive hangovers allowed...

He most certainly will...and it will be canted at the same angle as his fins, so his spray will travel that much farther.

I was golfing with my pops and some of his buddies a couple weeks ago and I mentioned something about surfing a couple of days prior and the one guy that thinks he's real funny says "isn't it the wrong season for that?" ( he thought this question was really funny) because he apparently thinks summer is "surf season" than he says where were you surfing? I said New Jersey and then he stares at me real seriously as if he was expecting me to say Florida or something and says well wasn't it cold? I live in south central PA which is about a 3 hour drive to the beach but to these people around here its like the other side of the world. They act like Im crazy yet they will drive much farther than that to get to there hunting cabin......what a country!
