I have a 5'8 and love it. Catches waves so easy and takes off right away. I ride it as a quad in all the mush around North Florida. Haven't tried as a tri-fin yet but I'm sure its good. Favorite board for most days here. You won't be disappointed
You're going to love it. I got a squash tail off craigslist last summer and liked it so much that I got one of the round pin versions for slightly better waves this winter.
I had to move my in-laws all day. One of the punishments for being the only guy in the family with a pick-up truck. I'm still pissed. I'm gunna go out for a sesh this afternoon .
Personally, I can't see spending $700 on a thinly glassed board that will be full of dings in a matter of months. That being said, has anyone tried the Libtech version? I've had my eye on it for a while; the shape looks like it will be good for 75% of what we surf here, and the ding-free summer board is very appealing It was surprisingly good by us too... great combo of size, period, and direction.
Tried the LibTech... was a dud. Dont know if it was the shape or the tech, or me... Sold it soon thereafter.
I saw this for $595 no tax. So I pulled the trigger Going to try it out now in this slop. Hahaha yeah I'm bored!
Thanks for the report. Something about the construction makes me think it will be as unresponsive as an epoxy popout. But I've met a couple dudes who love it. Have a good sesh Brad.
I just couldn't bring myself to it... glad you got in a sesh on the new stick, though. Just wait till you get her out in some kine!
Got it!! this afternoon bumped up to solid chest high with some punchy sections and dead wind. This board loves to do 12 o'clock smacks and little punts. Its not the best for cutbacks thou, I think the 21"width makes for difficult round house cuttys. Super Happy!!
Yea, Brad... I got my new stick out yesterday, too. It's EPS/epoxy so I told myself it needed to cure 'till May 1st. Bingo! May 2nd, a solid swell hits and cleans up just enough to take it out. The only better feeling than a great first session on a new board, is a great first session on a new board you designed and built in your garage. I highly recommend it to everyone.
