If we get a couple of legit storms in the next month or two we might be talking about the Summer of 2013

This past Saturday night and early Sunday morning were pretty good in central NJ... can't beat waist high days in the summer...

I go on my honeymoon to Europe from Aug 8-Aug 23 or something like that... hope I don't miss any good hurricanes... Mother Nature, please save them til late Aug into September, please! Ahhh, who am I kidding.. Let their be hurricanes for everyone while I'm gone. The more the merrier!

Ok, the winter of 2007-2008 was way more consistent. We got, like, two swells per week, every week for most of the winter. I could go back a lot further but that tends to upset the younger folks. This past winter had a handful of good swells. It wasn't what I would call consistent. Not up here, at least. Sh!t, didn't most of January suck, if my memory serves correctly? When a whole month blows, then the winter can't even be considered classic.

AND............a reason many may call this past winter "classic," is that the east coast just had a few of it's worst winters in recent history

A classic season, pumps straight on through.

Yeah Felix sent swell forever and Luis was huge. Snapped a pin tailed triple stringer long board on the last day if Felix. Miss that board. I'll check out that article thanks

This is what we got in Southern Maine this week. It's been this way since last Thursday when they jumped up to knee high for a couple hours. Before you ask, yes, I'm looking for your pity so please pile it on :) Boaters own all the stoke right now.

Man, I'm glad I'm not the only bitter one! I haven't seen waves in weeks. It's to be expected up this way, but still...this is getting bad. I might have to get myself a pet rat and teach him to surf so I can live vicariously through his rides. Seriously. (youtube surfing rats -it's possible)

Actually got a nice chest high wind slop session today. Lots of fun, and so rare for mid July in South Florida (being in the shadows of the Bahama Banks). Weird weather this year. No complaints, but late summer early fall could be stormular with a few sharknados in store. Be ready for anything. Jax Pier must be going off. Planning a trip up there soon to hang out with all the shredders. Let me know if your local where to paddle out.

Despite the non-stop 6 inch swell for many days, it's been great to see the young kids out there learning to surf and showing some pure stoke when they're sharing boards and trying to score rides that are fun for them. It's a good reminder not to get greedy even though any dedicated surfer is mad patient for their swells and works hard to get their waves.

Looks like the fun continues through next week. A surprisingly generous summer so far

From the sounds of it, it's been more of a Florida thing. Which I'm good with of course.
