our swell looks like it didnt get as big as forecasted....buoy reads 6.2 @ 8 secs as of post time....(sigh) im up before sunrise cause the g friend keeps bringing toddler into bed and im a raging sleeper in that i flange around alot, (kinda like when on a wave) so i dont sleep with toddler near....last night caught peelers off southern most pier....excersise at least. felt like an 8 yr old canadien who just bought a boogie board......couple other peeps checkin it out, one cat decided to get wet when he saw me get barreled (laying on my stomach) it was definitely kooky surfin....theres something to be said for going out gettin goofy.....and i said it......
Serious barrels today... peelin like bananas somewhere in SRQ. Just got in from 6 hours in the water.
never made it myself, but my nephew, who lives in Naples, was catching waist+ waves all day, and a friend of mine, who lives in englewood, was catching chest high rights all day long. proof

in the link I provided, the top 7 pics are of my friends in englewood, the last 2 pics of that set are after 5pm according to him
My bad guys... My body was noodled and my mind was fuzzed: Surfed out The amended statement is... Seriously make-able LITTLE barrels today!!! Pics by John Shelton on G'ster is where I was about an hour after the chunkier sets were spillin in!
after wind gusts over the 15 - 20 mph mark that's it; the gulf's threshold for holding swell & showing waves is 4-5 ft & 15 - 20 mph; anything greater than that, unfortunately blows the tops off the surf (in the wrong kind of way) & can really never show the true swell detection on our shallow sandbars.
