When they use phrases like, "excels in knee to head high waves" and "accelerate and perform," it makes me wonder if they've ever surfed.

Plus... I wouldn't be able to ride waves constantly hunched over like that...

I'm just wondering, can I take these things out in the middle of the sound and ride open water lumps?

 

That looks like a fun rippable wave being ridden on a surfcraft that makes it about as hard as possible to actually surf the wave the way i would want to surf it.

 

Oh? They have been used out at Jaws, and successfully. Tow in of course, but they move along fast.

 

waves like Jaws are actually when those hydrofoils make the most sense to me....lifting you above the choppiness on the wave face when those big divots and ruffles can buck you off your board in front of a mountain of consequence. And you're not really doing rail to rail surfing then anyway.
