Super Bowl LIII is this Sunday, I'm not a fan of either team, but I plan on having my neighbors over for a little get together.

We're going to smoke a pork butt and wings along with crock potting some meatballs, chips and salsa / queso, sweet potato fries, and baked beans. Pulled pork sliders with mustard based BBQ sauce is what I'm looking forward to!

I'll be drinking Sweetwater IPA Goin Coastal w/Pineapple and shots of Tequila.

I don't want the Patriot's to win yet another Superbowl, so I'm pulling for the Rams. I honestly don't really care though and just want to see a good game and have fun. What's your plans for the big game?

To me, this is the least interesting Super Bowl since the 49ers vs Ravens. I'm sick of the Patriots and I can't stand anything about LA. I guess I don't want Goff to win one before Wentz. Plus, it's annoying how they've anointed the Rams coach as the next coming of Bill Walsh and he's won nothing yet. I guess I'm leaning towards the Pats (can't believe I just wrote that!)

That was my plan last year, but it actually turned out to be a good game!

    Sounds awesome.

Get some King's Hawaiian rolls for the those pulled pork sliders and you are set.

Yes! Sweet rolls are perfect for sliders! I made some venison burger sliders with pepper jack cheese for the fellas I hunt with and they killed them. Thanks for reminder...I think I will do those for the game/party!

I’m going for underdog. Brady has enjoyed way too much fame and fortune lol...I hope he gets a least 1 or 2 good hits from LA D.

My plans are, as usual, to engage in my "boredom prevention plan", and NOT watch a football game ever. Meaning zero offense to anybody that likes ball sports, I honestly do not want to lower myself to that level of boredom and waste of time. Ask me to go PLAY hoop or football, I am all for it (exercise). Ask me to watch it....sorry, not me.

I'll probably get a surf in early in the day before the drinking and eating begins.

Yea, I agree...in general a huge waste of time. I don’t get guys who sit on couch every single week watching game after game. But I do enjoy getting together with some friends for the Super bowl...typically a good time.

That's my bro-in-law in a nutshell. He's got all the sports TV packages and keeps up with all that s***.

When my sister invites me over he and all the other dudes are in front of the TV for the entire afternoon. I try to engage but I generally don't know wtf I'm talking about. I know all the rules from my athlete days but beyond that i'm clueless, and even moreso when they start talking about "fantasy".

Bro-and-law and I are solid and have respect for each other, but i'm sure his friends think i'm some kinda weirdo for not caring about sports.

IDK, but I think I'd rather go dig a hole in my yard than spend the afternoon planted in front of the tube.

It's not all sports though. I can watch a random soccer game being broadcast in Slovakian and be entertained.

Maybe it's just the modern American sport's landscape: 3 minutes of game followed by 5 minutes of commercials. NFL seems to be the worst offender here too: 5-10 seconds of action, 2 minutes instant replay review, call a timeout, aaand now time for more commercials. I'll be asleep before the game comes back on.

Agreed. I never go out of my way to watch a game, I usually have other things to do. I know guys that do nothing every Sunday from August to the Super Bowl except watch football. They play fantasy football. Seems like a waste of a precious day off to me. Now I will admit that I have watched more Eagles games the past couple years because they are good again but only if absolutely nothing else is going on and I rarely watch the whole game.

I watch the Eagles if I can... and I follow the Flyers, then the Phillies, in that order. It comes from growing up as a little kid in Cape May... childhood heroes before I started surfing.

College sports are more interesting to me... particularly Michigan football and basketball. I actually enjoy watching those teams, and how they change from year to year. It's nice because you never get sick of watching the same dudes year after year... like Brady.

Some of them. Most are guys trying to re-live past high school football glories.
