When at trestles I lean it (bike) against a trash can, release the bungie cords, put the board back on top, bungie cords back on and away you go.Works really good.

I have toooooooo many surfboards, long short in between,I do have a side rack,BUT when I put a longer board in it,it wobbled to much, plus,I also carry 2 or more boards with me in the car so I have a choice, the over head rack lets me take a long board and a short one down to the beach. In 2 years Ive never had any problem except for a bike chain breaking.
