BTW, huge thanks to LBCrew, Mitchell, and Head High (hopefully i'm not missing anybody) for their tips and feedback. It helped alot. The tail dam was a success, it helped me get that edge back, hard to tell in the pics but it's got a good point on the tips of the tail again. I wasn't able to conceal everything with resin tint or anything but it's got it's shape back. I'm so stoked to surf this boart againe, it's the boart that I got recommitted to surfing with. It's over 12 years old and has tons of mileage on it. I just put the traction pad on this morning so I'll probably wait a day or so to take it out.

So one thing led to another and I've been cleaning off all my other boarts, polishing them back up and putting a fresh coat of wax on for the Spring. In the process I discovered 3 little dings that needed attention on the rail of my LB that I got a little over 2.5 year ago.

One is a small hole that I filled with Suncure to get back in the water and it was annoying me how it looked so i'm going to make it disappear, and the other is a slight crack that hasn't let any water in but it's getting a little worse the longer I let it go so I want to get on it before it takes on any water, and the last one was very minor but I figure stop it now before it gets worse while i'm at it. All along the same rail, each about a foot or two apart.

The 1st coat is dry and will be sanded shortly. Pretty soon all my boarts will be brand new againe and will be set for the season. It's f'ing amazing how much wax builds up on these boarts all winter long and how dirty they get. The Meg's Fine Cut cleaner and Meg's Polish have revived the shine on all of my boarts, great products!

That would be awesome man. I would love to take the next step and build one, but I'm not there yet.

That would be great to see LB. I haven't shaped a board in over 12 years, since son number 3 came along. Would love to see the LB process. Never did one of those.

Finished with the 3 repairs to the rail on my LB, nothing special. No pics because you would never know the difference, which is a good thing. But I know the difference. Last project is the SUP, I want to take it fishing soon.

The SUP had a lot more damage than I originally thought but I restored it and it's ready for the water. It had about 10 repairs in total, one bad one where the foam became exposed at the tail, so I had to cut away some glass, clean out the damaged foam and fill the cavity and glass over it, and bring back to original shape, which I did and is good as new. Other repairs were minor repairs around the rails, a few paddle slices and cracking along the nose and tail. Next step is to take it fishing and see what I can hook into and so that I can go for a ride.

Was that a poly repair or epoxy?

    Is it worth it?

A friend of mine found this board in the trash and brought it my way. It may be a permanent yard decoration. Some of the old salts tell me to redo this board.... That'll be a true labor of love and I don't know if I have it in me. I drilled holes in her and water poured out. I also thought about cutting it in half and making a minisimmons. Personally, this is what I want to do the most but I want to do the right thing if this is really a classic of some sort. I don't think it's too old bc it has the fin box and leash plug. It is a cool design and was probably a performer when new.

My buddy let me store and use a 8' Herbie step deck single fin. It worked well in everything from ankle to way OH. If you have the skill, the time, and the patience, I suggest you give it a whirl.

Yep, now's a great time for that. I'm kinda bummed that I fixed all by boarts, because I have nothing to do now.

Honestly with all of that grime and sunburn its hard to say. If that board showed up in my garage i'd spend 2 hours stripping the grime off/sanding it with some 80 grit just to see what i had to work with. After that, it might just need a few ding repairs and be ridable. Is it completely delaminating? or just took on some water and can be dried out?

    Its not a classic
Its not worth cutting in half to try and shape a mini-simmons
