Yeah man. Last year I decided to. I kind of got two diffrent things going on. I'll mark a "s" on my calender everything I get back from a session. If it's s named storm I'll throw that on there to. But I also keep an actual log. I started out doing it after every session also but I surf allot. It dosn't have to be good, I'll paddle out. So now I only do it on good or memorable days. I get pretty in depth though. I just bought a note book to write in. I include Date/time Tide time and the actual tide measurement Wind speed and direction Swell size, direction, and period Spot Board Then I give a description of the day. Describe any good rides or people I saw or whatever. Whatever I enjoyed about the session. My initial goal for doing this was to have as a reference for upcoming swells and what to expect. Thing is I don't really need it. I know my area and where to go without looking in a book. But it has been really cool to look back on. Much easier to remember those waves when you record them like that.
Thanks, man. Happens to us all at one time or another. So live life to the fullest while you're able. ***** Used to keep a dive log as well. It's practically, if not an actual, cert requirement for SCUBA divers. Haven't been diving in years, but I still have the log.
