theres probably more than one place in Florida called Surfside, but if yr talking about the Surfside thats between Miami and Lauderdale, your over an hour south of the nearest consistent surf.

If you can make it fit, why not? Better to have it and not need it, than need it and its hundreds of miles away. If your flying, it may be better choice to look for a shop to rent one. Hope you enjoy your trip!

I miss those days of family vacations paid for by the parents to somewhere warm... with waves...

haha. i'm leaving for oahu for 9 days in the morning my girl, and i. 76 degree water temperature, and looks like good surf wednesday, and thursday. almost double overhead. all this florida talk is kinda making me wanna move. all the summers in ormond beach as a child, and never realized florida was such a great state for surf. many people say it is, and comparing the reports for their this winter, and seeing what it's like up here it sounds like a dream.

I'm going to florida with a couple of friends. Were bringing our boards just in case. There are swells but it's always choppy. We're hoping to catch at least one clean swell.
