Surf in Georgetown, Grand Cayman or Cozumel?

Dear mr cayman,

I'm unsure of the wave situation on this cayman island. It's proabably the native islanders that would know best, but there could be a language barrier as with many native islanders they have their own language.

But I do know of a place with perfect waves, all day, everyday. The waters always warm ( due to the laboradors) and the people are friendly. In fact- if you run into a guy named gruvi- he will buy you a pizza if you call him your friend. Usually the waves range in from 23 to 24 ft.

Have you ever considered a cruise to The Belmars?

Went to Cozumel a couple years back. The east side of the island is the place to look as it has pretty good exposure. Rent a scooter in town( the farther you get from the cruise port the cheaper it will be)ride north to the airport, then east to the other side of the island. Takes about 1 hour to get there. There was no swell when I was there but it was worth the ride anyways to get off the beaten path. There were a couple of bars and shops on that side that looked to have rental boards available but I didnt check because there was no swell. Water was beautiful and looked great for snorkeling.

Mr. Cayman...I was in Cancun as a youngin and scored some little shorey, but to a cruise to Isla Mujeres and stumbled upon a point with chest high reeling waves. Sans board. Bring aboard, you may find waves.

I'm pretty sure I saw overhead surf on some outer reefs in Grand Caymen from a distance. I was frothing and asked the boat captain and he said there is surfable waves. I was swimming with huge stingrays that day, and I was only there that one day.
