I lived there for 10 years. Travelled extensively surfing the entire country. Unfortunately I am back in Jersey for now. I know anything you need to know. Bundoran, Donegal is the magic destination for consistant head plus surf.

thanks for the info so far I got a job with a company which will be sending me to Galway. So I was trying to figure out how I could surf while over there. Not sure of when I will be going but, just wanted to be prepared for when the call comes. Thanks in advance for any info.

Bring your good size surf, surfboard. It has much more punch than NJ and all your wetsuits. You will need a 3/2 in the summer,no boots or gloves and then going up to 4/3 and 5/4 etc. You will have to travel 1 to 2 hrs north or south or NW to get to good surf from Galway. Although there are longboard spots closer. Good Luck. Sla'n go foil. Slainte'.

i was only in ireland for a week in may. Scored a break in Easky that was pretty fun. solid right hander. I'm not sure what it was called or how to get to it. Just kinda drove around until i found something good. Be prepared to explore. Huge tidal swings cause waves to appear and disappear quickly.
