I saw some surfer mag photo of this dude getting an insane empty barrel in the Long Island sound. Must have been some point within the last few days. Anyone else have experiences scoring in the Long Island sound? Seems like the setups could be epic but never thought it was actually possible. Screen Shot 2012-10-31 at 4.56.21 PM.jpg

I live about 2 mins from central long island sound and during hurricanes its unreal. Its the only time there's an actual swell in the water and the wind is almost always off shore. Its usually never closes out and I've gotten some of my best barrels here and the best part is, until now, know one knows about it

i live out east and the sound does go off but not often at all... most of the breaks are either very shallow or are very rocky... very makeable drainers but if you go over the falls theres usually next to no water

hey guys, im the man who got that shot! hah it was very shallow and was breaking on rock, very fun but you dont want to fall. I was told that this has never broken like that before it was a day for the record books, it was the first time i had ever surfed or shot it and i have lived out east for 17 years now.

I think I'm gonna come up there the next time it's good. Maybe I'll bring a few friends with me.

Thanks for exposing a good spot.
