Is anyone else keeping a surf log for 2014? If you kept a surf log for 2013 how many days did you end up surfing?

132 from mid February on. And that's with A LOT of flatness in New England. Wasn't 100% diligent with the log after a while due to so many consecutive surf days early on in the spring. Good looks on the reminder to start this year proper. Hitting the break on Friday for complete gnarl. 2014. Yeah.

I hope to surf as much as you did this year, i got my log ready and everything. Gonna be really cool to look back on all the days i surfed later on and compare the past conditions to the ones in the future. Happy New Year!

Don't get me wrong. Half or more of those sessions were 2.5' or less. I've got a lot of action in my first year though. Enough to eat it on some of the biggest waves to be found domestically.

Stoke factor, number of FOG LBers dropped in on, number of wahines digits were closed on, avalanche closeouts that I made the drop on, avalanche closeouts I didn't make the drop on, count of pisses in my wetty, and what new wave/ska song I was singing on repeat to myself.

You keep everything from the session, including wave height, wind direction and speed, swell height, period, and direction, the weather, water temperature, wave count, and how long you surfed to name a few. Also you can include who you surfed with, crowd factor, notable waves, and a rating of the session.

20 some years and never kept a surf log. My wife kept a sex log last year, and I def noticed an increase in our seshes as to compared from previous years(just felt like we did it more often, but maybe it just made us more aware of it). Guess it couldnt hurt for surfing too.

I'm gonna include conditions, as well as a 1-10 raiting.

that goes for the surf log too.

2.5' or 8.5' its the same to me... ok lets be honest its not haha, but i just love being in the water either way. I just hope i get a lot of action this year.

you guys keep count of waves per session?? thats a lot to remember...well i'll keep a minimalist wave-log....so far i'm putting spot, what i rode, wave size, the near shore bouy readings, and basic wind. Crowd is generally always the same here...i get to surf with 20-100 of my closest friends at any hint of a reported bump.

Me and my surfing girls have a private Facebook page only we can see. We post conditions, weather, who went, outstanding rides and wipeouts, adventurous things that happen, funny things that happen, marine life spotted. It's like a private blog. Last year got out more than 50 sesh. It's fun to look back and compare seasons.

This will be interesting to see how much i actually go surf. Sometimes it feels like weeks of not going, when it could really just be a matter of days.

Maybe it'll help when i am wave starved too. Reminisce. So i dont get all crabby. Im sure my roomie is good and tired of that by now.

And thanks emass, i'm not much of an artist but i love to doodle!!

Thats exactly why i decided to keep a log for this year, to see how long i go without surfing, how much i have surfed, to look back on awesome days, and to compare past forecasts to the ones coming up so that i pretty much know what to expect when i go out that day.
