Any of you girls watch this? I know a lot of people are against the whole wave pool thing, yadda, yadda, yadda. If I had the chance, I would surf this all day!

I caught a few waves yesterday on CBS. It didn’t hold my attention but it’s pretty cool I guess. It’s bizarre watching the choo choo train come flying by creating that wave lol

I agree, but I ain’t hatin. I mean, I know it doesn’t hold the challenges the ocean does, but it does provide a pretty nice friggin wave.

No doubt, very rippable, long tube section. I’d hit it!

Soon as I get a new job and can afford the remaining $290 I owe lol I told him to put it on hold till I feel I can pay the rest without screwing myself on bills. Hope to fix that issue soon.

I would never forsake the ocean just for the challenge and variety and smell and feel and beach, but I personally know that my surfing game would be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY better if I had some consistent clean waves like that at my disposal.
But then i think I’d get spoiled and not prefer the ocean so I’ll stick with getting good at jumping on opportunities and learning to make the best of them.

But what fun a one time trip that would be

Why not? Looks like a lot of fun.
It supplements, not replaces, real ocean surfing.

watched pretty much all of finals day. Very 'made for tv' aspect to it. I rarely watch real ocean comps due to the inconsistency factor but was able to watch the whole thing. Aside from a brazzo winning it was pretty enjoyable. Def better than a football game.

Would i surf it? sure. I thought it was just dreadfully boring to watch...."next wave in 54 seconds"... Made me realize that a lot of what can make a surf competition exciting is the whole contest side of it...wave selection, priority holding and when to gamble, hassling. Man vs. machine...every wave is the same so was Gabby's Kerrupt flip higher than Julian's Slob Grab....I realized I dont really care.

^^^yup... only one dimension to the wave-pool surfer skill set.

But yea... I'd do it for a day.

Pretty pricey day, if you went for a private sesh there. Something like $400 per wave.
The rancho comp was boring. As well, no Jeeps for me, ever, as I can recite the Jeep advert word-for-word from memory thanks to the WSL's minimal sponsors; the ocean has the true magic, the wave pool is the hydro engineering equivalent of a mechanical bull in a bar.

the first few times I saw the wave when the whole thing first surfaced I was like eh it doesn't look that bad.then im like damn I got to plan a surf trip there...

then after watching like 15 minutes of the ranch contest it just completely blew it out of my mind, like this thing is fukin boring.very lackluster lol.

if I was given the chance id surf it,no problem with that but as far as a stop on the world tour, absolutely not!!!! theres so many crazy exotic waves all over the globe.theres a lot of places I wish theyd stop.back when they did the rip curl pro search, that was awesome.the tour lately is just boring, every contest I click on theyr surfing 3ft mush and that's it for me,i cant watch anymore.

its like watching someone mow the grass, like yea I can do that.i want to see crazy shit on waves I will probably never see,not some shit a 6 yr old can do.looks like the Brazilians are taken over too,i could be wrong I don't watch it that often, but I see a lot of new names.its not what it was 10 years ago

WTF dude? You can't just come on this here surf predictin site expressing opinions on artificial waves etc without a pic of GF (most recent in your case), # of benches, and how many times you've been pitted. You know the drill. LOL

Where ya been brah? How's life been treating you? Hope all is goode.

Mang! I've been relegated to the newb division, so that's the way it rolls eh dogg? :)

No benchin' no pittedness just loggin' @ TPTSNBN which has been goode from afar but far from goode this year. With a couple trips to Centro to keep the mind sane.

Life is goode, until someone tells me different. Had a moment in May, surfed TPTSNBN & a few hours later the Eastern Shore cutter took my appendix, the next day I drove back to concrete land - - nothing says dipshiiiit move like driving oneself across The Sketchy Bridge whilst jacked on morphine & other opiates, but hey I've heard of worse.

Doing ok dogg? Hope you're riding out NoFlo in style & grace.

Didn't have a whole lotta options at the time, Pump - - having said that, major props to Easton Med Center. First-rate, talented, caring folks there.
