Great post IMHO. Haven't even thought of some of the principles you take mention too. I would love to be more engaged in the preservation of beaches in the NJ region. Let me ask a general question to all of the folks posting, if not surf rider who else provides good dedicated efforts for beach preservation in NJ? Maybe I should do more research, but thats why I have you guys. This is something I'm passionate about and wouldn't mind taking the time out of my day for. I'm glad I opened up this dialogue and I appreciate the info from both sides because I feel much more informed about the issues. Thanks, Kan Man
Dude gimme a couple weeks, hopefully big schedule change...but swear to christ I'll start the Southern New england chapter
I'll Run the SD chapter. I've been displacing water from the coast for years - It's a passion of mine.
You brought up some valid points that should be addressed locally and nationally from SR and surfers themselves. They asked me t to launch a stop smoking on the beaches campaign and that is when I quit being active. I dont have the financial and time resources to spearhead local efforts and re prioritize water testing and beach access. But I will soon. As far as Barry "Dumbass" Cuda, well, he is just being Barry. Don't let the bastids grid you down. 3:04 [h=3][/h]
If SR asked for you to start a no smoking campaign on beaches, they must have recognized that YOU are the dumbass. The reason I don't join SR is because the membership consists of people like....well, YOU!! Don't forget to send them your membership dues.......it is late and overdue!!
bottom line, SR left the focus of surfing behind them and became a national enviro group that forced their national agenda on local groups while ignoring local issues.
