I was out tarpon fishing about a mile off shore in Bulls Bay this past summer and came across a heavy sandbar break. It wasn't that long of a line, but it was super big and clean by SC standards. I've talked to guys who have taken boats out to Bird Creek south of Folly and heard of some places near Awendaw you can only get to by boat but wanted to know id anyone's heard of anything like this!

Not to be a trator to the forum, but off of the fort in the harbor you can surf near the rocks and get constant open ocean swell. Sharky as hell though, but def some waves.

We discussed this last year. There are actually quite a few spots, and I have seen a couple when on boat rides. Here is a cool article about it: http://charlestonmag.com/features/wild_surf

As soon as I get a boat, I am hitting the one on the south side of Capers. I have been out there many times, and was impressed by what I saw. There are still untapped breaks even on certain parts of IOP and Sullies. No one hits them, because they are hard to get to or require a long paddle out.

ive always felt like cape romian is the place to go, ive always wanted to try the island on the other side of port royal sound from hilton head. i would id rather of hit some offshore sand bars where the waves will be real waves and have size.

I've been stuck in Bulls Bay high and dry. Thankfully plenty of beer.

There are many oppurtunity's out there. The article makes a good point to go prepared for the worst case scenario.
