Seriously, all I seem to see form you, Betty, Val, and Si are warm, sunny, waves, unicorns and fairies. Meanwhile, I look out over a dank, gray, muddy, post-apocalyptic work site and a gunmetal gray, small, choppy ocean.

Yes and we Floridians thank you for your service. Somebody has to live up there in the cold grey area in order to keep the nation going. It pretty much is unicorns and rainbows here, but we are all very shallow because of it.

I breath train a bit, but an old guy told me along time ago, if it's big, don't take off as soon as you make it back out to the lineup. Catch your breath and get your heart rate down to normal in case you wipe out on the next wave.

When its flat, I like to freedive in 15 - 40 feet with a dive flag in tow, for safety, but also for resistance. Very relaxing. Also, the second day of freediving you can hold your breath longer, your lungs are pre-expanded. So on big days, the day before is important. Smoke less jah, breathe more O2 that's my motto.

Reminds me of the time I saw Peter Tosh on a paddlewheel river boat in New Orleans back in early 80s. I was the only haole. LOL

Yeah, adrenaline can make you do stupid things. It's always good to take a few breaths when things get hairy. Land or sea. "Relax, energize, balance", another wise old guy taught me. He was not a surfer, but knew how to live.
