It seems like Rip Curls are the Jeep Wrangler of watches. Sometimes you get a tank, sometimes you get a lemon.

I would prefer to get a watch from a company that just makes watches, you know? Like, rolex doesn't make wetsuites, so how is it Rip Curl can possibly make good watches?

I spent way, way too many hours looking at watches, trying to find the "right" one. The Rip Curl seems to have everything I want, except the solar, and it looks pretty pimpin' so I'm gonna give it a try and hope I get the tank.

Got the rip curl today. Damn this watch is seriously dope.

 

Got the Nixon Supertide. Got it as a gift, if I knew it was coming I would have told her to spend less. Still, it does the job, stays on fine, and fits over my winter gear no problem.

Now if only I could remember to put it on when going surfing...

Working as much as I can before I bounce to Indo .... kinda scored last Saturday, in the afternoon to sunset. Skipped the morning thinking it wasn't worth it and lucked out late. There was almost no one out!

Between that and the super fun Wednesday Evening swell, summer really hasn't been bad. In other news that might concern you, I haven't smoked pot in over a year. Feeling pretty sober.

You been scoring? I wish it got dark at 9 all year!

indo sounds awesome, good luck dude! I've been mostly doing dp sessions, haven't lucked out with leaving work early these past few weeks at all, but mornings have been fun on a bigger board.

^ Totally OT, but last night the Towelie episode of South Park came on. Pretty epic. Then Scott Tenerman must die came on, probably the best episode evar.

On topic, took the Rip out surfing yesterday. Worked as advertised. The only downside is that I was checking the time like every 10 minutes. I really like it...hope it lasts a while.
