So, one of my boards is getting pretty yellow with sun damage from over the years. I'm thinking of spraypainting it then putting a clear spray paint coat over that when it dries. Has anyone used spray paint on their board? Or shoud I just use a ton of surfboard markers?

I wouldn't go the spray paint route, scoop up some posca pens those will definitely get the job done right, then lay down a clear acrylic coat to keep the paint protected

I paint my boards all the time with spray-paint. once it dries put about 5 or so coats of clear acrylic over it and you'll be good to go

There's at least 3 treads I can think of on this here and one of them was very recent.

If you plan to cover the entire board, or a large part of it, you don't want posca pens. spray paint and a rattle can of clear coat will work just fine and cost you ten bucks. The ...lost RNF on the right was absolutely hideous looking on the deck. a roll of masking tape, yellow and orange spray paint, and a black marker and an hour and it was all covered up.

Just make sure all wax is gone and the surface is sanded well, 220 grit works pretty good. If the paper gets clogged keep going w/ new paper until it doesn't and only dust comes up. If you don't prep like this your new paint job will come off quickly and look even worse than before. Then paint and posca your heart out and clear coat over. Have fun!

Cool man, thanks. Ya, I'm gonna paint the whole thing. From the tail pad down is gonna be red, and the rest up will be lite-blue.

    Gromster,

Go youtubing...lost of good instructional vids for painting boards, with details on the type of paint, acryillic, sandpaper, etc...and you may get some good ideas. I just picked up a used board all white and may do the dish soap trick on it.
