Ive been storing my surfboards in my house for the last couple of the years, and this year they have been in my garage. This morning i noticed that the rail on my long board morphed or something i was just wondering if that could be from the cold weather?
ive heard some horror stories from ppl who store their boards in the garage, thats y mine stay in the bedroom...the weather is most likely the cause
Storing boards in your garage is fine. Just about everyone i know with a garage keeps their boards in their garage. If your long board has a rail ding its because something hit it.
if your board is water logged then you for sure do not want to keep it where the temps will dip below freezing. its like putting a beer in the freezer, the water expands and can crack your rails or even warp your board. It has happend to me first hand, so dont listen to anyone that says the cold does nothing.
THATS definately true...if your board is waterlogged then dont keep it in the garage, in fact don't keep it in the house either FIX IT! Other than that, the garage is fine.
water logged If it's got water in it, you should fix it right away for sure or at least dry it out. Make sure it's dry before attempting to fix it though, you don't want to seal any water inside.
