Surfboard design gobbeldykook is boring to most surfers. And from that, arises the "magic" and "soul" of surfboards and the "guru" status of shapers. But the truth is... it's all physics. I had a guy PM me a few years ago saying I should just shut up about all the science stuff... "can't you leave anything to the imagination?"
LB, really solid paper. I was reading the latest surfer/surfing (can remember which) and they had an article on "the basics" of surfboard design with 4 shaper given their .02. Your article was more informative and well worth the read.
Agreed - thanks LB! It was very informative - and the thing I liked about it most it that you took the time to explaine the science behind it. Science is pretty cool!
