""He was kitted out with all the right clothing including a thick neoprene suit and this must have helped him to survive for so long at sea," she added."

I read this article last night.

what I don't understand is,it says he was dragged out by a rip current.i don't think it was a rip, like if u can tread water in the sea for 32hrs,even on a board, how do u not spend the 5 minutes it takes to get out of a rip, which usually takes about 40 seconds where I live.

scary stuff tho,how long do u go before u give up

This type of crap happens out here at least once a year, and it's always a kook noob or 3 that bit off more than they could chew. Coasties are always called in for an air rescue via chopper.

Had one guy get sucked out to sea overnight for 18 hours and finally got beached on some Indian rez 30 miles north.

How do you get washed out to sea in 3 to 4 foot waves?

Exactly. And thirteen miles? This has yet to be explained. Did he fall asleep on his boarte while waiting on his set? I don't get it.

id say the kids pretty lucky he was in the ocean for 32 hours and didn't even see a shark.

I don't think the person knew how to swim, like they just paddled out a few yards and never got into position, just kept goin and goin.

if I see the beach is getting further and further away I tend to move, not stay in the same spot lol

Not sure why you find that so remarkable. You said you've surfed for however many decades and claim to have never even seen a fish in the ocean.

If you watch the video in the OP's link you can see that they abandonne his wave surf riding boarte in the sea when they hoist him into the rescue copter.
