orange???? Only thing i can think of is suboxone maybe. . . idk thats weird unless he was snorting pixy sticks and had a nice sugar high.
+1 IHL. Don't get me wrong AI is one of my favorite surfers of all time, but after his death Hawaii created a holiday in his memory, but not so much as even making the youth aware about the dangers of drugs. IMO they should have set up some kind of foundation in AI's memory to educate kids about the dangers of drugs. countries like Holland and Switzerland where drugs are tolerated and people with addictions are treated as having a disease rather than a criminal have far fewer drug related crimes and drug addictions than in countries where it is a crime to do whatever you want to with your own body. heck there are some people who even philosophy that it was the use of psychedelics that gave rise to many of modern human achievements such as language and agriculture. there is evidence that man was consuming psychedelics before agricultural practice.
I wish there was the " Doping Olympic Games"! Imagine how many world records would be broken. I say let Lance and the rest of them have at it!!! What could be better for all professional sports than a meth/steroid cocktail? Make it legitimate so the doctors and pharmaceutical companies can be openly involved. It should not be called addiction instead dedication. Sure there are dangers, and I think there should be programs that rehabilitate our burnt and strung out athletes. They should be rehabilitated with more powerful drugs like Ibogain. Lets push the envelope of human potential by any means necessary. You can just say no and compete in a "Non-Doping Olympic Game" but please be polite and "just say no thank you".
Booze was my drug, and it once controlled me. That's what an addiction does. It's insidious. I can't really say one good thing I gained from alcohol. But that's me. For whatever reason(s), I couldn't handle it. "How can you just drink one - or two - beers and stop?"...I used to wonder. Thirty years ago I finally stopped altogether and started accomplishing some things in my life. Still love the taste of beer though. Have to settle for the NA stuff. Sometimes I think it might be nice to de-stress and relax with a bit of sweet leaf. Maybe when I retire.
For me when I first learned to surf I was much younger and smoked weed ALOT. But for some reason never before a surf....not sure why because after ALWAYS smoking before doing almost anything sports related you almost feel you need it to "perform well". I'm glad I never did because the more I surfed the more I found my weed habit slow down. I think it was the natural high that I was really starting to dig. Surfing to me is a natural, healthy lifestyle and I can say it definitely changed my life. There's not one drug you can name besides H that I've never dabbled in but now I only smoke every blue moon like at a concert or something. I don't think weed is bad for you but everyday for 15 years is. Of course I'm older now with more responsibilities and I've found this is the age where your drug habits either slow way down or you become the full blown lifetime junkie. The drug years were sure fun though!!! Just glad I survived....even though I can't remember what I just wrote
Francis Crick the guy that discovered the double helix of DNA was tripping his balls of on LSD at the time. I'm right with you about AI, guy was a legend but his demons were swept under the rug. a drug addict world champ is bad press.
hey man i don't know you but good luck and good for you for getting out of there. i've seen too many people wind up dead over that stuff lately.
Crick also thinks DNA came from space, which is far out in itself, here is a peer-reviewed article link, Directed Panspermia http://profiles.nlm.nih.gov/ps/access/SCBCCP.pdf
Interesting article brewengineer. The people who say crime will go up if marijuana is legalized must think that making alcohol illegal will make crime go down
it's the same thing people involved with the Temperance Movement of the late 19 teens used as their crux for the "alcohol is bad" argument. all the moral/value judgement aside, if legalized ganja can generate even $1 mil a month in state taxes it's a boon for that state.
And that's what will get it legalized. Follow the money, always follow the money and everything becomes clear. Soon as Anhueser-Busch figures out how to corner the market and prevent anyone from growing it thereby forcing them to buy it from them they will start the lobby machine and it will get legalized over night.
we can only hope. now some facts! - http://www.utdallas.edu/news/2014/3...y-wide.html?WT.mc_id=NewsHomePageCenterColumn
It's all about money. the 1st ford was built to run on hemp fuel and the body, which was made from hemp, was almost indestructible. http://www.drugwarrant.com/articles/why-is-marijuana-illegal/ "Harry Anslinger got some additional help from William Randolf Hearst, owner of a huge chain of newspapers. Hearst had lots of reasons to help. First, he hated Mexicans. Second, he had invested heavily in the timber industry to support his newspaper chain and didn’t want to see the development of hemp paper in competition. Third, he had lost 800,000 acres of timberland to Pancho Villa, so he hated Mexicans. Fourth, telling lurid lies about Mexicans (and the devil marijuana weed causing violence) sold newspapers, making him rich"
If you were stranded on a desert island that had perfect waves, and you had a surfboard made out of weed, and you knew after catching a couple of waves it would fall apart and float into pieces and drift away, and that was the only weed you had, and you had a pipe and a lighter, what would you do?
Get stoned, make a handplane and some fins, and then try to ration out the rest of the herb to the best of my ability.
^^^We have a winner^^^I was thinking of whittling it down to a bodybboard, but a handplane is just as fun and leaves alot more to smoke. You can make fins with some sturdy palm fronds. Plus all the smoke might get you unshipwrecked. Hopefully by the Indies Trader or some other surfer friendly crew.
