    What did you read?
    Not my post.
I never said any of that. not one word. If you read what i wrote.
But you sure seem a total hypocrite full of mean-spirited hate.

You try to accuse me of what i never said and then spew that spongers ripping big swell has anything to do with what i said, but you attack what i never once said by saying i am judging others inferior.

I am stating my belief that the fact is everything else is inferior to surfing.
    Not people. Not spongers.
    Sponging.

If anything you could have read it correctly as a positive encouragement to go surfing, standing, hands free!

And i never said i was better than anyone else.
That makes you a flat-out liar!

    I didn't belittle anyone.
I belittle all other activity, like mountain biking is not surfing.

On second thought maybe i oughta take that back, because, come to think of it...
Music and sexual pleasure are debatable. Or love. Or in my case faith, Worship and fellowship can exceed surfing.

    Nah!

Funny how you defend against something i never said in the first place.
Methinks you doth protest too much.

So you are admitting that you don't surf? Ok that is obvious.
With the condition my body is in i can barely stand up, but i am still surfing, because...

Only a surfer knows the feeling.

Personally, I think surfing on a board is way preferable to boogie boards (sponges). So if beachbreak likes that, so be it.
There is no hate on spongers--we don't have to. We just run them over, like a speed bump!! hahahahaha!! And at social events, we avoid them, after we toss our drinks in their face. But hate them?? Come on. That's a little over the top. But, maybe, on second thought....hey, wait!...thanks for the idea!!
    lol

I saw a guy with two stickers on his ride..."soak it up with a sponge" and "boogie life". Pretty sure it was seldom seen visiting the area.

I always get a kick out of surfers that get mad that a sponger had position and catches the set wave.

I do agree with beachbreak though. I've sponged some pretty heavy outer banks (years ago)...I much prefer to stand up and ride waves. But that is my dig. Everybody should do what they like.

A good measure is the wedge...primarily a sponger wave I guess. But, dudes that take off and surf the barrel are mental.

In non barreling waves no question surfing is better (again opinion).

Another yard stick is pipe...both are on it but the pecking order starts with the surfers.

    Boogiewoogiewoogie...

    1) there's this old sponger who frequents my local break. Guy is awesome. Not so much in ability. But he's just always stoked, good vibe, friendly dude. That's what matters.

    2) I'm about to get deep on you guys. But everything is a "this vs this" with our country, and humans in general. It's not healthy. Men vs women. Left vs right. White vs minority. Rich vs poor. Yada yada yada. And in the surf community it's surfers vs boogs/SUPs. Whats with all this labeling vs opposite labeling. Why can't we just be people, and in the wave riding community... why can't we just be water gliders.

I'm not saying anyone was bashing boogs. But let's face it... it happens. So that's my rant.

Nothing wrong with competition. You will find it throughout nature. I'd say it is all healthy.

    One of countless examples:

Competition and what I'm talking about are two completely different things. Yes competition is good. Labeling people and creating a non competitive, but hateful, divide..... no good. Been a few shootings, fights, driving trucks into crowds of people, ect ect in recent years due to this mentality which is running rampant

No shootings, fights, driving trucks into crowds...
Seems you are conflating politics with surf.
Primarily vids of people competing for waves.

I prefer bodysurfing with fins over sponging. Shorter rides, but a better workout.

Yup, I always did as well, as a kid. Even today, I sometimes swim out with this old Cressy fin I have, full heel fin, to body surf. I bought that fin set about 1975, but one is long gone. I only body surf with a single fin--there is no need to wear two.

I know a guy who does that, too. I figure I'll wear two until I lose one...

Yes. My comment was an off topic mini rant. Seems your the one confused. On a forum being able to read is quite essential.

But as i said, it was an off topic mini rant. Don't want to get into that discussion or derail thread. So I'll end on this. Cool videos merx.
