Two customs in 3 years....boss lady warned me. I don't know when I'm going to tell her about the 5 fin set I'm going to have to buy for the latest board being built. Does anyone have an extra room I can rent?

Gotta be addicted to something right?!

If you're addicted to surfing sounds to me as if you are thoroughly enjoying life!

Besides how could be addicted to surfing possibly RUIN your life!?!

Should you be hampered down in the "RAT RACE" working 12 hours a day to have an expensive car and oversized home of which you don't see much because you are working all the time and then surf for a couple of hours on Sunday because you have too much too catch up on at home not being there all week! Then that leaves you trying to squeeze in that surf trip once a year with your two week vacation of which your ol'lady complains you have to take her somewhere too!

    OR.....

Do you spend your short time on this planet doing what you absolutely love to do and makes you happy in life...
live in a modest one room by the beach driving a rust bucket and surfing every single day.... going on surf trips more frequently... maybe even finding your spot in the world where the waves break good all the time and making a life of just that!?!

I find it much more comfortable in flip flops and boardshorts....

So what's your definition of a "board meeting"!?!

It's definitely addictive. I've lost my family due to it. I moved here in '74, caught my first wave a week later and I was hooked. My parents moved 2 years later to Utah. Sorry mammy, no waves there, staying here. Got married a few years later. Wifey: You got to give up surfing. Me: Bye. My current wife will get mad if get hurt if she didn't get to go to the beach every time. 40 years, still have her. When I'd scold my kids, they'd get my board and push me out the door with it and tell me not to come back til I get my fix. Lately, I've probably been horrible to be around since all my "medicine" has been so weak.

Bros, you're support has come in clutch. Spicoli, while skateboarding can't match bombing the 23 footers in belmar, I've taken your advice and have been grinding all over town.

The guy who told that story about how he started surfing at 65- awesome story I found that an interesting read

The guy who said he just spent his life savings on surf wax- d4mn

    Yankee- **** you

Unfortunately, I'm falling off the wagon, using a personal day at work and going to get some in OC tomorrow. If you look at the castle cam and see someone who looks like they are more comfortable on a 23 ft bomb, well that's most likely going to be me

Shy brunettes with wit, tall and slender figure skaters, blondes with energy, and ANYTHING Scandanavian or Portuguese. All poison. But it's so good.

Dudes. I have surfed twice now and I am addicted I think! Is it really dangerous to be addicted? I dont want to loose my family but I am so happy when I surf. I think drugheads are also happy too so maybe it is dangerous. Should I only surf once a week to stop addiction? Please help this thread is making me scared.

Chops, you've come to the right place. however, you have to keep in mind that getting clean is a lifestyle, not something you just pick up and do. perhaps you need to take a 15 year hiatus from surfing
