definitely generally that's all I listen to on my 20-45 min drive out...usually looking for something mellow to upbeat circa '88-'96ish that is not too over produced...the more raw the beats the better das efx, krs1, tribe, 2pac, biggie, mob deep, even some dmx sometimes, wu-tang or any of the individuals, ice cube, busta, etc.....something about it just gets me feeling buckets and cut-backs more than my usual go to sounds
Hell yeah. I'm a sucker for old school rap. When things were grimey and hard. Everyone you mentioned. But my two all time favs.....Big L and onyx. That stuff gets me so hyped. If you don't listen to Big L or onyx i suggest you give them a shot. From your post i get the feeling you'll be into it.
