I cant believe there is no post here, this is an awesome site...Just got back from La Push and Rialto, had some decent waves...If you hit Rialto, it has to be on incoming tide or else a shorepound(thanks mike)...

Thanks for the props on the site! The word hasn't quite spread on the west coast so much, so help the cause and tell your friends!

Let us know how our forecasts are for you area!

p.s. you originally posted this in the Classified section, so I moved it over here.

I am moving to Washington this week - I can't believe the swell forecast! I wonder what it really looks like on the ground.

Alright I'm from the east coast, but I still love to check spots out on the west just for fun to see who's getting surf. But according to this site, it seems like there is just constant groundswell filling in for Oregon and Washington all the time. How many actual rideable spots are there when it starts pushing double-head + out there?...I've never really heard of a big wave scene out there and I'm just really curious as to what it looks like when it gets big and who's actually riding it! Thanks alot

I'll let you know how it was after I go this weekend. I will try stick around to Monday out of morbid curiosity to see what a triple overhead wave looks like.

So I went out on Sunday and Tuesday (the "3x-4x overhead day"). Both days, Westhaven State Park (south of the Jetty) was completely Victory at Sea - a whitewater mess. But both days, the cove was roughly chest (waist to shoulder) and semi-clean. The Groins were not working at all on Sunday and were almost working on Tuesday, but the wind mushed out most of the waves trying to break.

I haven't seen that big and it be ridable yet here in WA, I here OR goes off...A normal day here is chest to head, which blows the east coast away!!! :)

I've been using this site for a while now to check the swell for WA. I just now signed up. I might be out at La Push Thursday or Friday. Spose to be head to double overhead high. Friday wont be as windy. Does anybody here surf in the straits?

looks like a solid west swell coming for you guys, but keep an eye on those winds. Looks like the winds will try to lighten up on Friday.

  15. dude the straits are always good, summer is so cool. I cant give the best spots, sorry cause well you know how that goes. but use swellinfo for forecast or wannasurf for the best spots (no im not with them). Late summer and early fall is a killer time.
    I love this site....

Ive lived on the east coast my whole life and last year moved to washington. The waves are sick and my friends out east never believe me when i tell them how good it is out here ( also sick snowboarding). I usually surf westport, WA. I havent ventured out to the straits yet but i want to really bad.

Wind is the whiskey to my **** out here. If ther is no wind, for a few days it can clean up to paddlable thirty+. It is rare but it is what we live and train for. I surfthemon wikis boards only, it helps to cut through some of the chop and still be at the nose when the wave is dying.
