I have the same thing works well on small days when you'd wanna listen to some jams anyway but the headphones dont stay in that well if you get tossed on something bigger!
What a terrible idea. Could anything become more dangerous and maddening than a line up of kooks who can't hear a damn thing? Please for the love of surfing do not wear these silly things in a line up. Thank you.
exactly. plus, why would you want to take away from the experiance by listening to your IPOD???... and what if someone yells SHARK... hahaa...
First off I use them occaionally And Im def not a kook.....But, I can see your point about these getting into the wrong hands.... And i agree they should only be used on small days....like in the summer. I am able to still hear people....The earbuds are kinda hollowed out so you can still hear the outside world somewhat.
Me too....but i like to listen to music at times....Guess you never experienced getting shacked listening to music.....it's amazing!
Listening to music while surfing is awsome, but if there is a big line up, really? I love having my ipod on while im out in the early morning by myself out on LBI...nothing like having a whole break to yourself while listening to some old school red hot chili peppers.
I thought I was hallucinating yesterday when I saw some kid with what looked like a Bluetooth headset in lineup, but guess I wasn't..... hmmm whatever happened to surfing for peace, quite and being one with mother ocean.
Who says you can't surf for peace, and being one with mother ocean while listening to music? I listen to reggae mostly when i surf.....I don't see how you can get more peaceful then that. Actually, it gets me even more stoked and in the zone when i listen to music.
yeah the music gets me stoked. it also helps me getting my blood flowing and helps the paddling go faster for some reason but i only use my ipod on waist down waves. i never use it on big days so i will be able to hear other people call out and stuff.
defiently the wtaer calms me down. especially with all the crap that im going through with school, family and friends. also music does calm me down as well but not as good as the waves breaking. thats why when some sort of crap happens right after that you will always see me go to the beach and just surf or sit out there on my board just to hear the waves break.
I usually just paddle out with a boombox bungy corded to my deck and rock out some old Styx cassettes. The synthesizer solos really get me going.
man dude thats just as bad as some white dude putting a big clock around his neck and acting like flavor flav. except witha boom box.
