Yep. Pam was very cool that day considering she was a total stranger! A stranger can often be a better teacher. My wife doesn't really like to listen to me when I try to teach her what I've learned even though she eventually comes to find out that what I say is true.

She loves the beach and has made many friends with folks I surf with and among Betty's awesome crew. She has a lot of fun doing her thing and likes being around surfers and stuff. But I don't think it will ever be more than a casual activity of opportunity for her. I don't envision her ever obsessing over forecasts and planning when she's gonna get her next fix in the same way most of us do. And that's cool too.

    Pretty darn funny Barrance!

Btw, where da heck you been?

They haven't banned the word Moron here yet.. just wait

. I see they locked a thread from Capt. Ron Jon where he was joking about cocaine. Yet another piece of evidence that the mods/admins guys either have autism and are tone deaf to humor, or they are descendants of the puritanical bunch that ruined Hawaii in the 1800s with their holier than thou fun killing spirit.

Hey Betty. Took a few days and went to PR; then when I got home my daughter and granddaughter were there to welcome me home, so for a few days I spent all my time with both of them, and my wife of course. And I really love my time with them. Unfortunately, they are in Germany for 10 days now visiting his parents. Looking forward to their return.
PR was very nice, warm, humid. The waves were nice, shoulder high, but I was hoping for bigger. But had fun anyways.....

My chick doesn't surf and never wanted to. But she does love to hang on the beach and has no issue with driving around looking for waves (when traveling).
And now with a kid (soon to be 2 kids) it's awesome that I can surf and have them on the beach. It makes flat days fun to just paddling around with the boy.

Absolutely right! Back when I was with my now ex fiancé, I was a bit annoyed when it was a nice beach day and she would get all pissy about having to sit on the beach alone while watching me surf. Same when we went to Oahu quite a few times. She claimed she enjoyed watching me but who was she kidding? Dating a girl that surfs certainly isn't a dealbreaker for me though, but I prefer to keep my love life and surf life separate if possible.

I tried to teach my wife to surf but she's afraid of the longe boart, so I taught her to body boart. I can't surf with her when I'm logging and she's body boarding because she sits inside and drops in on me almost every time. She's not afraid of me running over her and killing her for some reason...
So... When it's shore pound or she wants to body board I'll pull out the sponges and we will do that together. She's good for about a half hour then she lets me go.

Ha! My wife still hasn't grasped the concept of dropping in. She's all like "Couldn't they see I was going for that wave?" Fortunately she's only out on the small summer days in waves of little consequence.
