Ok, I'll stop being a d!ck about this but you do post a couple pictures of your woman kicking it out wide.

Here's where I think your product is lacking. Your feet do move when you're surfing. There is a lot of adjustments and pivots that you make when surfing, even if you're just trimming down the line. If you're stuck to the board your ability to learn this is limited.

I don't think your comparison of snow boarding to surfing is really applicable either. What are you riding on when you snowboard? Especially a park or pipe where someone might put in some serious aerial work? Probably a groomed piece of snow with an architecturally sound ramp. And, oh yeah, a mountain.

Sometimes doing a triple core 1400 rotation is tough on a waist high wave. I'm mean jeez, I only hit my 540s every now and then.

If you want to practice your pop up and feet placement, put a piece of duct tape on the ground, put two Xs on the tape, lay on the duct tape, pop up, put your feet on the Xs. I need to do this more often.

Anyway, good production on the kickstarter, the page looks nice and the video was good. I don't think the product

Yes we have mountains on the east coast. Buy whatever gear you like. You would be just fine with a Walmart board. For real. http://www.yobeat.com/2013/05/20/colton-maddy-kmart-board-edit-2/
Yes, we do get powder in NE, but it doesn't often get deep enough to be that fun. In comparison to say Tahoe or AK for that matter its always a bust here. I lived in Tahoe for 4 winters and that place is EPIC.
So, Emass, don't let people influence what you buy. If you like it buy it. It will work and you can have tons of fun on it. But if its purchased at walmart it will break

I would think you could still move your feet around, I think the velcro type application is just to help. The board should stick to your feet but I would imagine if you need to move your feet around you should still be able to do so fairly easily.

Yes, I'm talking about those guys and a handful of others who've got rad videos up of snow surfing that is far from the days of the Snurfer and now feature aerials that incorporate skateboarding tricks.

Mr. Pink, thanks for the backup on that one. He's quite possibly an alias of another SI member anyway. Of course I wasn't speaking of hitting the slopes of mountainous MA. NE doesn't have the Rockies, but you're right that VT/NH/ME have some good spots. FYI...I wasn't talking about pow on regular trails, but more backwoods. As you can see in the videos, what's needed is untouched pow that's of decent height. Otherwise, you'd need an edge and bindings which defeat the purpose. At any rate, this isn't something I'll get into more than a few times this winter as it will be taking away surfing time.

Thanks brohan. It's been several years since I was in the snowboard game, but was in it deep back then. From a peripheral view, it looks as if the sport's come full circle a time or two since then with trends. Since I'm not looking to put forth any meaningful commitment to unbound snowboarding, I'll probably just grab a cheap board to mess with. I love the video where the guys actually use a viable surfboard on the snow. That's more what I had in mind, even of it's a crazy thing. Again, this is 2-3x this winter for me tops unless it blows my mind and isn't entirely hazardous to health to be trying fun enough tricks on it to continually occupy my attention. Not looking for any substitute, or even a break from surfing.

So why can't someone just put Velcro on the board and on an old pair of booties?

Only cost a few bucks and take a few minutes.

That's the one of the main problems I see with "Surf Sols"...Anyone can do it without buying your product.

...and you can't move your feet..."training aid for "pop up" ...Pffff.... ya move your feet then as well...
... but good luck with it.

Performance surfing is much different than big wave riding.
If you are riding a shortboard and not changing foot position on waves, you are not surfing to you full potential.

I was surprised with all the sick things they were doing. It's definitely worth a few days out there over the winter but I don't see myself making efforts to get up to a mountain and take myself away from winter waves. Will probably go a few times without bindings on weekends friends are going.

The boys in the video were killing it! I must say. I'll definitely be looking for more. We just got the snow today.
