You're darn right I am. I am judging that all children should have the opportunity to go to school (at least up until age 16). If you do not give your children this opportunity, then I judge that you are wrong (and most countries in the world judge that you are breaking the law and your children will be sent to school against your objections.)

Doc is entitled to his personal perspective. He can think that school is a waste of time. But (in my opinion and the opinion of most governments) his personal perspective should not prevent him from giving his children a state-approved education, be it home-schooling or in a classroom or whatever.

Doc was breaking the law, but more importantly depriving his children of a fundamental right. He may not agree with that, but I'll sure as heck judge him harshly for it, just as many of his children have. Doc is entitled to feel whatever he wants, but in the case of educating his children I do not believe he was entitled to act how he did.

 

The "ideal" way in today's civilization is the purchasing of repetitive goods while over consuming mass produced foods high in saturated fat and sugar. It's estimated that in twenty years 1/3 of the Western population will be diabetic because of the degenerative diet overstocking our food shelves. The definition of "ideal" is always open for debate.

I love non-conformists but hate the tendency to label anyone who looks to simplify their lives and live outside the story book that mainstream media propagates as the only truth as a non-viable option.

thats what i meant. i meant we can learn from them not exactly go to the extreme. i do see a purpose in the movie
