I surf to get a smile and have fun that's it ,no coach just me alittle 420 and a solid crew of rippers. I feel you Carter, but it just kills me to see a solid wave with some dude with an oversized board on cruz control. As for the we don't like you crap you have a gerbil up your butt or a mouse in your pocket ?? Im just popping in, dropping my opinion. RADBRAD OUT!

Well none of your post point to a dude having fun. They are filled with "kill" that wave, throw spray in that guys face and other bullsh!t aggro surf talk like you see form the "bad guys" in North Shore or Point Break. As for the we don't like you statement it's true because I know of at least 3 people including myself who don't like you so the term we is accurate. So in the words of Chandler, "go ahead, go shred".

Who makes good eggs like this, maybe a little shorter? Would be nice to have one for a change of pace but don't want a kind of cheater, funboard sort of thing but a real classic egg but with modern bottom.

They seem to work well when a beach break is higher tide soft peaks with mushy shoulders that build up to shore dump. Like when the whitewater trails from the breaking waves look like rectangles instead of stretched triangles with wide bases at the beach is how I could try to describe it. Like San Onofre and Old mans, bottom too deep to break fast. Or even Tres Palms on a bigger scale- mushy and sort of straight in and not lateral speed flyin' down the beach . Guess that is why they work good for beginners and old folks that are afraid of the bowl or too slow to get up to their feet and set a rail on what they think might close out. That little bit of paddle glide from a mid size egg will help newbies and real oldies get in without being a full blown log. For face angles under 60 degrees maybe?

There's a lot of good shapers pumping out some really nice eggs right now, but nobody beats Skip Frye's eggs.

Just get a good fish instead of an egg. A real one with a foot wide tail block. They do the same sort of thing without you looking like you swiped a board from the surf campers down the beach. Sure, you'll cruising and carving it up and having a blast but the shredder dude's girlfriend will text her girlfriends you are cheating because that's what her man told her and you will never get your ducky hammered. At least a real fish has lots of sharp, pointy bits to it and looks dangerous (somewhat) so your peers will still kind of respect you. Sort of. All kidding aside, shoot me a PM, I know a guy who has lots of eggs in stock or could crap out a fresh one over easy in record time.

I got one! It's a 1985 model w/ glassed in tri fins and no decals, only a pencil drawn wing on it and it feels just like the one in the video looks like on a wave. Slow and carvey with a defined speed limit. Mine is brown as a walnut and kind of mushy, just like Shock-a-Zulus backside (and as round too).

    LMAO

My egg is the exact same size as the one in the vid. Works for me. He seemed connected to the waves energy.

Different tools for different situations. I was out riding a 5'8" quad fish in shoulder high offshore conditions this afternoon, and a couple of guys picked off the biggest outside sets on boards over 8' long...got the longest carviest rides of the sesh. I appreciate all kinds of surfing on all types of equipment.

If you believe that the only legitimate kind of surfing is the kind of surfing that you limit yourself to, then you are missing out on expanding both your surfing and yourself.

"Shock-a-Zulu"? Is that a Swellie member name, or are you referring to a Mandingo Booty? (Usually matched with a pair of Swahili tittays.)

Hell ya. Had a myopic view for a bit at the beginning but the quiv is full and diverse right now. sandblasters was stoked when I scooped the LB and so was I.

    I agree with you 1000%!
Having a "quiver" with a diverse assortment is very Darwinian, i.e., diversity of species is a healthy biota. Being flexible to board type and size has survival value and increases your fun!

Of course I did. Still say a properly shaped egg is the best all-purpose EC board.

I may have provided a quote form North Shore but you act and post like you're Warchild form Point Break (but I bet you are actually a pu$$y like Anthony Kiedis was). Not sure of anything about Mason Ho, never even new about him till the forum went nuts with 100 treads on him. If you think SI is such a waste of time why do you post here? By my calculation you have around 294 posts per month, at that rate by the end of 2015 you will surpass my post count that took me almost 6 years to reach. Is your life really that worthless that you would waste time here when you cliam to not like it? You really are SADBRAD:(
