Swellinfo will go down for upgrade at 9pm EST

Typed in swellinfo today and thought I accidentally typed in surfline! I like the changes, out with the old, right?

Micah thanks for the hard work. What are the positive updates to the forum? Noticing that setup is a bit different up top. Can't readily find PMs but I'll look.

The SI app that I have is only the forecasts. Apparently? there are other asspects wherein you can get more info, not sure though.

 

This is very startling to me. What's up with this personal info request upon logging in? This may take some getting used to.

Cons- my album and all photos in it are gone, the 2 photos I posted to the photo section are fuzzy now, sent pm's are gone, recieved pm's are gone, my profile image is gone, my avatar image is gone (still appears in posts), recent visitors-gone, friends-gone, infractions-gone, last name required, how often I surf? I'm in NJ thanks for rubbing it in, age-I'm not allowed to be born in 1876, the "upgrade" focuses primarily on our profile with no significant changes to the web pages

Can you guys who are stoked on the "upgrade" explain more about why you're stoked on it? I don't get it.

 

I was trying to PM Seldom but I cant even find where to PM someone on the new site. Where is the PM option?

 

Up top under the forum and Gallery tabs. Maybe I'm just old but I don't like change.

Less than 2 hours prior notice with no explanation of the "upgrades" was a bit on the weak side.

I'm stoked that it seems to be moving faster. I'm still getting use to the new template and would like some of the old features to be readily available like they were. I'm sure if we give Micah some constructive criticism he'll take some of it into consideration and make some tweaks. I was a bit concerned about the personal info at first, but then I realized you can elect to keep anonymous. Nobody sees my real name right? I put in there against my better judgement, mostly because I have nothing to hide. But at the same time, I don't really want to be out there with my person info like Facebook and some other sites. I can see my real name on my screen, but when I post it shows up as DawnPatrolSUP.

 

I think it seems to load the frames quicker too. The new login and user profile pages are a little odd at first but I'm sure we will get used to it. Overall it seems like a nice upgrade.
