Ocean Pines has a indoor pool and coached "master swim group" that meets monday, wednesday and friday 10am-11am. This is a great opportunity to get in shape for surfing. we do about 2-3k yards each day.

The price is only $42 for OP residents and $52 (i think) anyone else for 6 weeks or more.

call OP recreation department for more information. 410-641-7052

or message me if you have questions.

    masters? I think not.......

Typically "masters swimming" is anyone over 18 with a wide range of abilities, from people who have never competed and want to swim for fitness, to high level athletes training for various competitions. Don't let the word "Masters" scare you in to thinking old guys will be leaving you in their wake, although they might;).

The Ocean Pines group is made up of some retired people who are training for Senior Olympics, some tri-athletes, some who swim for physical therapy and some who just want to stay or get into in shape.

for those who can not make it during the day there are sessions on Sundays at 7 pm and more evening sessions can be arranged depending on demand.

Anyone can try a session before committing to the fee.

Some of us don't refer to surfing as a seasonal activity....

when you have flat spells that last several weeks at a time, you could almost call surfing "seasonal."

since were on the subject, monmouth university has a masters swim team that meets mwf from 7-8am. i believe its somewhere around 500 year membership to pool and fitness center and less if you are alumni or live in the nearby community
