Looks like the USA will be exploding things in Syria again...

What kind of political advise can you offer?

I wonder if DP will buck shots when China and Russia decide it's on.

You can talk to me and not around me if you want, I won’t bite. Hey, if they decide it’s on it’s going to be f’ing ugly and I’m not excited about that. But someone has to stop that dude from gassing his own people, it’s disgusting.

What difference does it make whether Assad kills with gas or any other weapon?? He wasn't stopped early on by Obama/Kerry traitor team, so it got worse by giving Russians more time to build up in Syria.
    Either way--it is an atrocity.

OK, so answer the question, will you? And no hypotheticals here, say yes if you mean and are prepared, at this very moment, to rock and roll. And by prepared I mean a decent high capacity rifle and 1,000 rounds of ammo. A fkn 9 ain't gonna help ya.

And my own answer is yes.

I'm not picking on you, but you do talk a lot of pro-war stuff. Wondering how far you'd take it.

I was talking about sending a couple hundred cruise missiles at Assad's airforce... from a ship in the Mediterranean....

Are we really talking about defending the homeland right now?

Are you asking if I myself would be ready to fight a war at this very moment if we were invaded and our military didn’t stop them? The answer is no. I don’t own firearms believe it or not. Been considering changing that lately though.

No, I believe in our Military and think they can handle whatever comes their way. It could be ugly though, I don’t actually want war. I would prefer people not mass murder their own people though too. It’s a tough decision. If we do nothing who else will step up to stop them? Remember how far the Nazi’s got before we finally had enough and did something about it?

I’m all for staying out of others affairs but there has to be a line that the human race will not allow anybody to cross.

When over 500,000 people have been murdered by their own government then that is a call to action, as much as it sucks to get involved.

This is what i'm asking. Do we want to get involved?

Do we really trust Russia and Iran to keep isis from blowing up again?

Nobody wants to if we don’t have to but what is the other option? Let them all die? I don’t trust Russia or Iran either. We would have to stay in Syria longer than we want. Trump just said he wants our troops to come home and as soon as that was announced they gassed their people. So what to do???

nice distraction from stormy and the disgusting "break in" at michael cohen's home and office. none of it will make mueller go away though. i feel so comfortable with john bolton guiding the very stable genius in this matter. what could possibly go wrong? we'll see what happens...

So you believe this is a "wag the dog" scenario? You think Trump just created this situation out of thin air just to cover his ass because he nailed a porn star?

Gimme a break, the liberal mainstream media has been reporting this well before any rumblings on possible action came from the White House.

But hey, don't let your obvious bias get in the way of a killer post, right?

Back to the OP: So, do we practice a policy of appeasement and isolationism, or do we continue playing World Police to the rest of the world's chagrin?

Personally, I'm sick and tired of policing the globe. The U.S. Military is the second biggest source of our tax money behind social welfare programs. And, the world treats us just like our citizens treat cops...we hate them until we need them.

OTOH, somebody needs to step up and kick Assad's ass because human atrocities should result in severe punishment.

The US has no real national interests in Syria other than it is a cradle state in a geopolitical hotbed that inversely affects our interests and security.

Where are the other outraged nations (bordering Middle Eastern countries, France, England,Russia, China for starters) whom have much stronger national interests? Why hasn't anyone else stepped in to stop the atrocities?

Personally, I believe we should stay out of this. At some point, Assad will cross a line because he'll get desperate and arrogant.

At that point, if nobody else steps up, then the U.S. could regain the world's trust and respect by building a world coalition...preferably with the countries I outlined above.

    Simple, no?

nah man, he didn't create this. i don't think trump can even think that far ahead. he lives and acts in the moment. i just think he is happy to have this situation for the distraction. he can't wait to flex his (our) military might in whatever way he can and he's now got bolton to egg him on. he loves to be perceived as the strong man. hah! he can't even fire anybody in person.

i do agree with most of the rest of your post. i'm tired of this country constantly being at war all over the world and being hated for it.

Well, being tired of being international police?? Yeah, but....that is how we see ourselves, unfortunately. If not, this would not even be a topic for a thread. We do, however, have to learn to pick our fights/battles. Most are not worth fighting, but some are. I think Syria is; NK not!!
