Civilians getting gassed is very bad, but so is civilians getting bombed and ripped to shreds with shrapnel. So you can bomb your civilians to bits, but don't gas 'em. Dead is dead.

My post did not post...anywho, he is not any more of DA than the last two presidents.

 

Just seems strange that we will stand by while 106,000 civilians are killed by bombs since the war started (almost 5,000 in the past 3 months), but if 70 civilians die by a gas attack suddenly we're all in. I agree that we should intervene and enforce norms, but let's face it, our norms are f'ed up.

 

Unless they pose a direct threat to the US, which Assad does not, don't see how it's worth fighting. Just more American blood being spilled for a war that will never have a clear resolution. Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan all over again. Just more tax dollars going to fund a war to help other countries. Those dollars could go a lot further to improve actual American lives spent over here.
