    Hey guys,

I'm going to Mission Beach/ Pacific Beach in Cali for my spring break and was wondering what the best way to get my bodyboard there? I have a sister who lives there with extra surfboards but I think it's going to be cheap and I would love the option to try some stand-up in cali.

I'm flying out on south west airlines. I don't know how much it costs to ship it....and what's the best way to bag it up so it doesn't get crushed?

    Thanks guys.

A bodyboard bag works fine and there is not cost if it is your only checked bag unless the carrier charges for any checked bag.

SWA has a very good surfboard/bodyboard baggage policy and a "legacy" checked luggage policy: two-pieces of free baggage allowance for each fare-paying passenger. Boogieboards may be checked in substitution of one piece of the free baggage allowance for each fare-paying customer at no charge on a one-for one basis. Overweight charges may apply - so keep it under 50 lbs. Use a standard bodyboard travel bag to provide board protection.

I remember the days of 3 free checked bags plus a bodyboard, and 70 lb checked bag limits!
