Micah, has this idea been considered before? I didn't see anything when I searched. I was thinking this forum would be good for anything from fixing dings to cleaning wetsuits or the effects of riding single fin versus tri fin. I just noticed that there are questions like this spread out in the regional forums, which means less exposure. I know searching will scan all forums, but it might be easier to get more responses in the centralized forum. Thanks!

Ya, its not hard to setup separate forums. However, It seems that most people just click on the local forum on their forecast page and dont browse around so much. So, I think people who want to post about specifics like that would go to the forum, but I"m not sure how many people would view the questions. For example, there are a good amount of bodyboarders on the forums, but most of their bodyboarding specific questions are being posted in the local forums, rather than the Bodyboarding Forum.

I have some ideas that I would like to implement, that will make it not so hard to categorize and search all the forum threads.

Anyone else have thoughts on the idea?

Yeah I usually start in my local forum because it's on my forecast page, but then I click New Posts so I'm exposed to everything. As you mentioned, the real issue is users being exposed to all the posts. What if we could customize the page we view? Is there like a User CP that would could change to show the forecast we want along with the forums we want? Then I could, for example, always go straight to viewing the Monmouth County forecast along with the Mid-Atlantic and Technical forums. This would obviously only work if you are registered AND logged in though.

    That would be sweet.

The one thing is, I don't think it would work if you're not logged-in. For users like me though, I view the site from work or home and my cookies always keep me logged-in, so it would be great. Not sure how that would be implemented into the User CP though.
