Raddadbrad, for a guy who's been "surfing for 30 years", you write with the eloquence of a 13-year old. Maybe people would take you more seriously if you exhibited some proper English skills.

That, and a "hello" thread. Yeesh

Just think of all the first responder jobs available when the ****in thing blows up! Or disaster recovery people needed when all the toxic sediment buried in the seafloor gets stirred up!

Others have the foresight of a 13-year old.

Likely the mechanical contractor that would build the facility is highly specialized and already works primarily, if not exclusively, for the parent energy company. Usually specs for these projects are written so that only one contractor is qualified. So they would be awarded the contract and employ some people for a couple years while it's built, and then the facility is maintained with a skeleton staff and corners are cut to save additional money for the O&M contractor (or the same parent energy company). Then, as I said, all liability and no benefits to the region.

Ha! Seldom chimes in with a gem as I type. And it's not often I agree with MIS, but we share some beliefs apparently.

Is this the same group that proposed Broadwater in the LIS?

It was nice to witness the convergence of different groups to fight that.

Violent statists and libertarians, hand in hand against a common goal.

    Different company, same nonsense.

    I've read 6 permanent jobs.

id like to see that source. ^ seems way too little for a facility of that size. Plus with ease of export, the gas producing regions should see an increase in employment.

    This x100

Jobs for those contractors connected to the top of the energy companies. Kickbacks for the politicians who go along.

Do any LNG related companies own any sports teams? They might want to pre-order the 6' sandwiches and chicken fingers now for their "lifelong pal and good buddy" Guv Kris Krispy when he comes to visit the owners suite during the playoffs.

It's just a couple of buoys, basically, it's not some huge facility. LNG themselves say "dozens" of jobs, including contracted work. Either way.
