You could have had insurance for less pre ACA. A lot less.

No, actually I couldn't. $500+ per month for absurdly high deductible catastrophic type policies. I got quotes, said **** it and went without. A couple of other people I know, self employed, were paying that much pre ACA.

Do you participate in the "reimbursement" via your taxes?

NC is ****ed. We only have one choice in the East. My kid (28) went from 176.00 a month to 426.00. They allowed him to grandfather his plan but upped it to 298.00. And me? lets just say I could live pretty good off what I pay for me and the wife's insurance.

and like everyone says the ****ing kicker is everything went up. our copays, deductible, and premiums all doubled. What the **** is that ****? Calling it the Affordable Care Act is a huge slap in the face.

Putting this all on Obamer is also stupid. This **** had to go through congress. meaning 2/3 of the 535 sacks of **** have their finger prints all over it. Both parties are at fault. The right for making sure it benefited the insurance companies and the left for extending the benefits to people who aren't going to pay for it. Basically carving out the middle class and telling them go **** themselves.

I keep hearing this system works great in Canada (population less then California) Ireland (4.5 million) Sweden (9.5 million) ETC. but they are a little different then USA with 315+ million inhabitants. Even considering that a similar system could be scaled in a year or two is extremely short sighted. Americans know that only one way works in america. The ****ing Murican way.

Sorry for the rant work was slow and no swell

I pay 1600 a month for the wife and me. Up 150 from before aca. I go once a year to get my lady doc to stick her finger in my bum. At least There no pre existing condition or life time limit schitt in it. I'm glad we're a Kristian Nation, because Geebus said, Fug the sick, poor and underprivileged. The only ones to get good cheap health care should be those in gubmint who fought against giving us the same deal.

The vote against ACA wasn't because the Repugnitards didn't want us to have something better. They wanted to make a black guy look bad EWE ESE!

the reason it "works" in Canada is because if you have a serious medical issue they put you on a list, if your alive in a year they put you on another list for the procedure. Great way to keep costs down, let people die before you need a costly procedure. There is a reason people come to the US for serious medical procedures.

But aren't we the richest nation with all the bestest things? If we didn't give the MIC over half our budget, and if the privatized hospitals didn't have to make massive profits, maybe I could afford to get digitally enhanced twice a year(She's purdy with tiny fingers.)

The only ones that come here for procedures are the rich Canucks that don't want to wait with the dregs. Could anyone on here afford a flight to the Ewe Ess and pay out of pocket for any procedure?

I'm not on an Obamacare plan so no input from the consumer side. As a provider, however, my frustration is with increasing regulation of care driven more by bean counting and less by science. Believe it or not, that trend began well before the ACA was passed...

    whats not to like?
the fact that you are forced to buy it!
the way you tout the 'triple tax break' is so sad : HEY if I brush my teeth, the mafia only sodomizes me instead of making me go airtite!

glad it works out for someone who doesn't like independence and relies on greedy external forces to guide their lives.

Hey Hanna, 240 years ago, would you have tried to keep the colonies with the crown??
seems like it as the decision to make your own life seems to scary to you

"increasing"....? Holy Toledo, doc, it's been there for years.

Bean counters get patients kicked outta hospitals to go home & die from sepsis, and that ain't new at all.

Govt needs to fight wars, keep the drugs & sugar outta our food, keep the guns in the hands of those who aren't medicated & go to 6 months of Congress; the other 6 months, those a-holes get real jobs.

I got some warehouse floors they can sweep & mop. Start with the simple shiiite.

The emergency room and hospital bills. Not to mention the numerous bills for each individual dr that enters the room. Oh yea- did I forget the bills for each bag of iv fluid... That you have to pay before you meet the high deductible

This all goes back to my original thought- and I'm sure is true of many guys who don't like going to the dr anyways- when your hurt and still technically alive- do you really need to seek medical advise and pay the fat bills or resort to the medical advise on swellinfo. Avoiding much needed professional medical attention due to yeh bills. Like that time I got the infamous fin to the head injury - in need of stitches- but since I was alive I didn't want to go to the hospital due to the bills. But after my wife told me I should go- it resulted in quite a few staples in the head

Maybe you can control the cost- but I find that in an emergency it's better going in knowing how
Much your gonna pay and knowing it's actually affordable
