Dear tuckdoc, Thanks so much for the inportant information. I noticed that your new around here- welcome to the forum. We could use a few more drs around here. Have you ever considered starting a hello thread to properly introduce yourself? It's kinda a right of passage around here. You know- answer some simple questions like- what's your fav surfingbort, where you like to surfbort, have you ever lifted at Belmar and what's your fav color. Oh yea- do you like pizza? Also- please post a pic of your dog for the Tard. Welcome again- Yours truly Mr Belmar
my bad. once upon a time, i was an infrequent contributor to the now defunct forums at nesurf (rip), and i think i lost all my online etiquette. for Mr. Belmar: favorite bort is currently a 5'10" quad, i like to bort wherever there are waves, I don't lift anymore because lean is the new bulk, and pizza is delicious. but I'm currently a masshole and Belmar sounds like Jersey; did I wander into the wrong room here??
OH make it stop. I earn my own way. The money I bring in, I go out and get. I don't have to lick some schlubbs azz to get a wage and unfortunately, be part of a group that would drop my rate. The fuggin poor get affordable health care. My buddy on the OB of NC got the 80 buck a month plan.
Always, always, always heed The Bettye. She knows & she glows. You need know nothing more to succeede here. Seldom will undoubtedly weighte in as wille GitCarter & Blasters. Just prepare thyself, doc. Tell us. Tell us what sort of wetsuites you sport & how much you bench, as well as what sort of faux Rolex you're flappin'. Oh & are you driving the 980 BMW while rappin' to Hindus. A propere intro tread, indeed. C'mon....you got more to give.
Yes- a proper intro thread- start your own just introducing yourself, not just to me, Mr Belmar, but to everyone. If you start a thread- you'll be in like butter. But if you avoid the thread... Well... It's kinda like dropping into a closeout.... #belmarlife
Just trying to help you out bro... It's just the way this forum rolls... Do a search and see all the hello threads
I cant hate on it from my experience. I lost my job due to lack of enrollment in Utah, moved back east and started a job that pays shiite, and had limited and varying hours at first. knew I wanted a career with said company and stuck with it through the first 5 mos. obamacare kept me covered when I wasnt making enough money to put food on the table. I have since been promoted through the ranks and now have killer insurance through my employer. $36 a week including vision and dental. I can understand where some of you dudes are coming from for sure, and man it was nice to have some coverage, during the hard times.
It works very well in Europe, because everyone benefits from it. Obamacare was a half a55ed attempt at universal healthcare coverage. You can't only go part of the way with this and expect great results.
I have worked in massive corporations for the last decade, and also had some time in small private companies. If you haven't seen the trend of less coverage for more money in the healthcare world before ACA, you haven't been paying attention. When I started my first engineering job, my healthcare was copay only, and nothing out of pocket to have the plan. That went to a small monthly cost and 80/20 or 90/10 plan options. 3-4 years ago, I ended up with a larger out of pocket monthly charge, high deductible, and no coverage until I hit deductible. All this happened before anyone discussed the ACA. The free market has been failing in the healthcare industry for a long time. The rates are completely out of control, and there is nothing we could do about it. This isn't like buying a new car. Healthcare is a necessity, not a luxury item. I have lived in Europe twice and seen how their healthcare works. It may not be perfect, but it is working. BTW, I have never been a fan of the ACA. If they are not completely socializing health care for everyone, there is no reason to go that route. We should all be on the same playing field, or it becomes an unfair system.
It actually only works well in certain European countries, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany and a couple others. These countries also have (had) the strictest immigration laws. If you have a work visa, when it expires, they kick your a$$ out until you go home a file for another. Of course, now with their new influx of "refugees", I guess we'll see how great their health system is supported.
Oh Ricky. It's hurts. It's hurts sooo bad. You pay the bills and your Mexican illegals pop out the babies every day in the hospital without paying a dime. They are actually doing better than the middle class with truly free healthcare, not paying taxes, free education, food stamps, free housing. Ah the beaner life.
By the way, I fuggin love this site. Where else can you get spiritual, financial, medical, and political insight. As well as surf forcastte
It's just like here. Illegals get it for free while we pay out the ass. Pretty crazy that illegals are treated better than American citizens or even veterans. Makes you sick.
The irony of the matter is, that the insurance industry claims that O'care has allowed a gigantic pool of "high risk" clients into the pool, therefore driving up the costs of insurance for everybody. While probably true, O'care has also brought in the same amount of people into the pool that would probably fall into the "low risk" category. Logic would dictate that with such a huge number of people brought into the pool that weren't there beforehand would bring in a huge amount of money and consequently drive the cost of insurance downward (supply and demand, right?). However, quite the opposite has happened. Either the Obama administration 1) did not foresee this and got caught with their pants down, or 2) they knew *exactly* that this would occur and did nothing to put a reasonable cap on the insurance agencies. I believe that Scenario #2 occurred, quite possibly to ensure future lobbying money from Democrats.
This. Obamacare is a great excuse for insurance companies to jack up rates, raise deductibles, and put the blame on poor people and the government. Before O-care everyone hated on the insurance companies and there was real risk of a single-payer socialism, or pay-for-service capitalism revolts. Off with their heads. Now those fatcats can lean on everyman to jack up profits then sit back in their multi-billion-dollar towers and watch the 99% eat each other alive. If Obamacare worked like people want it to work, the Insurance company profits would be getting leaner, since they provide nothing, just paper-pushing. Do you see that happening?
Part of the problem (or issue) with pricing now is the lifetime maximum went away....the risk from an actuarial standpoint has dramatically increased for the Insurance Companies. The other problem with the system is pricing for care specifically (negotiated between facilities/doctors/insurance companies). Physicians make a sh*t ton of money. Also, you ever seen billing for a claim (explanation of benefits) and cost if paid out right (cash)....cash is always less...much less. Obamacare fixed nothing. Pricing is still jacked. And the algorithm is jacked because all the older unhealthy folks are jumping in while the younger healthier folks are not (in general). Hanna, I have no idea how you are paying less for the same or better benefits. It's logically impossible with the ACA. The only way possible is if you are receiving subsidy from Gov't (entitlement)....where you qualify based on income (I think if you make <$44k or something). Chich, no body wants poor helpless folks to suffer...That is a red herring for the dems. The fact is there is a huge % of folks on gov't entitlements that are slack a-- people who live to milk the system....FACT and you can't say otherwise with out throwing in some partisan jab about somebody not caring! I will say this though...what I mentioned above about pricing was bought and paid for by both sides of the isle.
