I'm taking my annual south florida trip for thanksgiving... and it looks like good it could be good timing! charts are looking really good right now around Wednesday. Its very early, so I hope it hoping it holds true... I"ll be around the deefield area - anyone from this area?
im heading down there as well to juno beach on tuesday and it looks like were in for some funnnn surf
nice - have fun. Dont forget to give us the juno report when you get back. I"m getting pretty amped to put on the trunks.
Ah yes. FL is about over due for its 15 yr swell to arrive. I last surfed a picture perfect Thanksgiving swell in Boca during the late 80's. I can remember the golden sun setting and these pillowy looking peaks coming from all over the place. Deerfield gets a little drifty, but if you can get out of town, definately check Trespass about 1 mile south of the pier where the pay parking lot ends. BUT if can make it northward, your first check point would be southside Boca Inlet on the wrap around. Next would be Jap Rock north of 40th Street about 0.5 miles. This place has an offshore reef that peels around the closest thing to a point in SoFla. And finally, if your really rambunctuous, travel up to Jupiter Island for long reef, albeit sharky lefts! Good luck and say hi to my hometown of Boca 4 me.! PS... Surf in DelMarVa is way better ________ Honda Elite E
Thanks for the info! It looks like this swell might be best on Wednesday, which I"ll miss since I dont arrive until late in the day. But, there should be some fun ones for Thursday and Friday. I'll try to snap some photos to share.
So Alsurfer, how did you get Juno? The day I was traveling (Wednesday) was of course the best day, but I did get some fun ones (waist to chest range) on Friday. Did you score any on that Wednesday before T-day.
