Ok, so I must ask. And please, excuse my ignorance. I am not trying to offend anyone or make a joke of this if it is serious... But, can someone explain exactly what "The Force" is? Is is an actual surf organization, that has money and resources, that sponsors some local guys in WB? Or is this a band of young surfers who have labelled themselves as some sort of a "surf gang"? Or is it just an ongoing joke amongst locals over there... At first, I assumed that a few guys on here road for a company called "THE FORCE". THen I saw some comments on WBsurflive, and it was a kid saying "We just got back from Tahiti, and I heard that the UNCW kids were dropping in all week, so "The Force" team riders are back in town to regulate"... So, at first, I thought the guy who posted this was serious. Then some other guys got on and made fun of him and basically said, yeah buddy... I hear you... Then they guy was like, It was a joke, you don't see that???? So, is this a band of groms that made up a team name or something? Is this a legit surf team? Or is this WB's ongoing joke about overcrowded beaches etc??? I'm confused... And again, i know a few guys on here have "THE FORCE" in their signature, so I am not trying to be a jerk,,., I am just asking WTF all of that means????
yes, the surf is an actual sanctioned surfing association. "The membership is just over 500 and growing everyday! The organization has it's roots deeply set in wb but has chapters in carolina, kure, and topsail beaches. To learn more just go to you local Force office and Force-Aids will be happy to answer any and all questions you may have."
So, it is a member based organization, rather than a "surf team". More like a "surf club", yes? ANyway, thanks for the info. That must be one of the only organizations of its kind. Every surf team or club in california is maxed out at about 20 people. The old plus one team had like 11 guys on it.
