if it weren't for snowboarders, many resorts would already be out of business

    1. Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado
    2. Mammoth, California
    3. Buttermilk, Colorado
    4. June, California
    5. Breckenridge, Colorado
    6. Sierra-At-Tahoe, California
    7. Northstar-At-Tahoe, California
    8. Crested Butte, Colorado
    9. Keystone, Colorado

Those are the top 9 Mountains/Resorts in the US, (Transworld 2013). There is not even ONE listed in the NE USA.

They also have pipes, parks, but these are just the best snow/mountains they say each year.

So let's shift the conversation. I was trying to provocative and it seems to have worked!

Anyway, here's a question that shouldn't result in an argument. Where have you had your best days ever? Why?

Epic powder: Kirkwood (as all of you know). I hope I experience similar conditions again in my life.
Best park day: Waterville Valley, NH. I could do no wrong that one day...
Best all-around day(s): Attitash, NH as a young shredder skiing with my boys. Those were the days.

For all of those questions. I say Big Bear. Not because it's the best, but it's world class. Surf in the morning and snowboard in a tee shirt all afternoon. Fresh Powder a couple of times. I know there are better places, but that was a quick 2.5 hour drive from where I lived at the time. And Big Bear makes a joke of the stuff I grew up riding. (Liberty etc.)

I also don't charge the mountains like that. I used to get out maybe 3-5 times per year at best.

... Actually Mammoth was the best powder. But I don't need a mountain like that either to get my kicks. Bear was just way more convenient and without the gnar factor.

The JHole is SOLID. I had the best ski accommodations ever when we went there. Love those steeps.

    Here's another:

Best nightlife: Downtown Salt Lake City with all those horny Mormon chicks.

Lol I've never been to Utah but I did hear Mormon chicks give mean reach arounds (it's less sinful)
I go to CO every year and stay with friends in Denver and the night life there is pretty rad and Hot chickens everywhere!

I agree, and I ski. The whole snowboarding vs skiing argument is f*cking joke.

Jay Peak VT and Wildcat Mountain NH are my favorite spots. I want to visit Alyeska in Alaska, they avg 650 in. per yr, looking at it for not this winter next one. I rode skis from 3 - 13 got a snowboard at 13 and only ever wore skis again to try the parabolic shapes when they came out. Skis seem to do nothing good for my knees where the snowboard doesnt bother them. I ride with boarders and skiers all over NE who cares what you slide on anyway.

It's my dream to hit jay peak one year. Apparently it's the only mt on the ice coast that can compete with the west.

something about the right coast... we get a bit of everything, just nothing world class. Yearly trip to the rockies is always in order. Snowshoe mtn WV can be fun after a good dumping as well, especially a week day when the crowds are thin.

That's because the last time I was at #9 (Keystone) there was 4 ft of fresh powder, lifts taking you to 12,000ft, snow cats taking you to the summit, and a bundle half pipes and such waiting for you at the bottom in area 51. It's sunny when it ain't snowing and weed is f**king legal. No way any east coast spots are even near worthy of that list.

I actually never thought of that. The right coast is like the average kid who sits in the corner while his brother gets all the cred.

Those places are awesome, but the non skiers or riders on the trip want A good amount of non skiing things to do, no water parks, more like snow shoeing, shopping etc.
