Hey the pier is solid chest-shoulder on set with maybe a few head high drops right now, but a little sectiony but clean with a west wind. It's strange, noaa wavewatch III isn't really showing the swell size either but the E swell that it does show has a 10 sec period, could that be why the waves are a little bigger than forecasted? I was out earlier and it was real juicy and pretty fun but a little funky with the south swell in there too. This site is the best, kudos.

Ya, the models missed this one.... I was explaining in another thread, that a large low developed well offshore, and much more E/NE fetch developed than the models were anticipating. Definitely a tricky one, but whoever got on it is stoked! and the weather today was awesome.

Swellinfo was calling for decent swell down in OBX, but more reached up further north than was expected.

:D Yeah O.C. was going off. I hit it in the afternoon, and there were some nice hollow waves, and no hood. sweetness. I also just walked over to the store for a six pack, and I could hear the waves breaking from the other side of coastal highway, so it sounds like tommorrow may have some power, just hope its not too much current. My girl snapped some photos so I'll post them.

The buoys are still holding solid, so I'm expecting there to be some decent hanging around for Wednesday.
