You from NY? Madball, 25, knowing guys in gorilla biscuits. Sounds like your from the area. GB is another band i love. Don't know if it's cause I'm from here or what, but i always love the NY guys, even before i know their a NY band
I cannot believe you morons would actually admit to being followers of punk bands. I'd be embarrassed were I one of you. Maybe you should all take U2Bs advice....??
Zen Arcade is a really solid one as well. still highly abrasive but getting downright melodic on some songs but the melodies were just buried under layers of guitar damage. Speaking of influential bands from Minneapolis, Soul Asylum (before they went big label produced sounding) put out a couple of absolute gems around 84-85.
I’m from North Jersey, but I started seeing shows in New York City when I was 13. That was when NYC was a rough place and I had to make up BS lies that I was going to shows in some mythical club in Lodi, so they wouldn’t catch on haha. The bands I loved played New York City and not really Jersey at the time. City Gardens had a lot of shows and I went to some of them when myself or my best friend was old enough to drive. But it was in Trenton and was at least an hour away and not as accessible by bus.
I never had their albums, but I thought they were decent until about 1997. Their first couple major label albums didn’t sound much different from what they were doing before that. They still sounded like a Punk bad at that point.
That’s the generation gap. We didn’t really have a boy band type equivalent to NSYNC in the late 70’s/early 80’s. I figure Madonna was probably the closest thing to Mariah Carey in the early 80’s. We did have Michael Jackson in the late 70’s haha.
Yeah they got real popular in these parts about the time that the grunge scene was starting to break out. My tastes run more towards older alternative music but more commercial friendly than y'all lol. Heck I even like UB40. Fun thread but nothing to fight over. Music is probably the most subjective creation, everybody has different tastes and one person's preferences are no more or no less equal than anyone else's. I don't contribute to the music threads but I enjoy listening to everybody's choices.
Man I actually thought you kinda gave up.. How in the world would anyone from Central Florida think they would know anything about anything is beyond me... I was born in LA and grew up in DC... You on the other hand are just a hick... a hillbilly poseur clicking away on your keyboard in your trailer telling everyone you're dawn-patroller... WTF can you dawn patrol at lake okeechobee? Florida is the most fucked up state in the US outside of WVirginia... And let's set the record straight you started this you just don't like the conclusion you hick... Just like how you called me a johhny come lately and I was on here 4 years before you.. You are lame as shit...
You missed the point of the video. No surprise considering your low IQ. Move on, it was meant to be light hearted. Oh, and I’ve never been to Lake Okeechobee, I have a decent home, and surf any day there is surf in Brevard and Volusia Counties, and I have a pretty decent job working from home. Yeah I’m a hick lol
Huh?? LA born and DC raised?? And the question then is......soooo??? Sounds as if you got a bumblebee up yo (LA talk) arse (refined DC talk). Oh, where do you live now??
