Google Wheelerville Pa. If you all bug out, head there. I'll be there. Just show up with guns pointed down and ask for Dave. Just give me a week to get there. We are prepared to walk there if needs be. Will provide food, clean water and shelter for medicine like antibiotics. That's the one thing we lack. Knowledge of solar/wind power a plus and the willingness to go out on Viking stylee raids on the hapless populace a must.
Chavey, I googled Wheelerville PA & all that came up was the State Fair....lol....is google sanitizing again??
You got it. Yank, that video was funny as chit. My youngest son's bug out has a harmonica and a deck of cards. We're gonna need some entertainment in the kingdom of Wheelerville
Plus, we will have to strike some sort of alliance with the bikers that run the meth lab down the road. They are already living a sorta off the grid existence if you know what I mean
Sorry T-Rev, I gotta disagree. I lived in the PNW for 3 years and never saw anything remotely like what we get here. Maybe I just got lucky those three years. Only saw one boomer of a t-storm in that time too. I was laughing because all the natives were acting like it was Armageddon. You can keep the earhquakes, avalanches, and mudslides though. Esp. the earthquakes. That's just down right freaky. Land ain't supposed to jump around like that.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbus_Day_Storm_of_1962 Biggest windstorm in lower 48 history...recorded gusts of over 150 mph, until the machines broke. We've got a fairly big one on tap for the next 2 days, with anticipated gusts of over 60 mph. Not huge, but an unpleasant and common event here nonetheless. Strong offshores yesterday and today before the storm hits. I'm going surfing. Toodles
I've got enough gas\ammo\etc. to make it to my uncle's place. He's out in rural NC. Has about 250 acres, all the land is cleared around his home (good fields of fire). Two lakes, both stocked with bass\brim\crappie. Cattle. Deer everywhere. He grew up country and was in the woods all day every day. Then he got into construction, then a gen contractor, then a developer, and got stinking rich. You'd never know it seeing him riding around in a beat up truck with a bunch of tools in the back and wearing jeans and muddy boots. He's got a well, unleaded gas tank, gennies, multiple freezers, you name it, the whole freaking shebang. Even a still. Plus he's the best shot I've ever seen. Most of my hunting\fishing growing up was out at his farm. My Dad wasn't into hunting, he was into building muzzle loaders and doing those cowboy match shooting comps. My other uncle was a gunsmith, and this uncle can out shoot all of them. When I was kid he bet my Dad and other uncle's he could shoot a chimney sweep out of the air...with a pistol. SOB nailed it on the first shot. Un-freaking-real. If I hadn't seen it I wouldn't believe it. Deer, fowl, whatever, if he wanted it dead and on the table, that's where it was going. No idea what his range was but I've seen him hit some ridiculously long shots on a deer. So yeah, if TSHTF I'm bugging out straight for his place. If we can't survive out there then it's all over anyways, might as well just drink the shine till its dry and call it. Fock his first name is even Hunter. Grandma named him right.
Daayum. That's pretty nasty. How often do you get them? So was I just lucky while I was there or are they less frequent? Or does it hit Oregon more often than WA? Have a good session man.
Yeah no doubt Pac NW gets HEAVY storms plus you got the cold, snow and quakes. Definitely don't envy you cats.
Here Austin, you can live vicariously through Phin. Hey thanks for editing my thread title man, you're alright most August of mods.
