As many said costco is a wholesale outlet supposedly for small business to buy stock and sell it so the guy with entrepreneurial spirit selling the boards is a true american trying to make our economy grow. You on the other hand don't get it. The reason this country has problems growing the economy is people who think like you and try to red tape and knock down simple business ideas. As for costco they walk the line too closely as their memberships are supposed to have different pricing for businesses and such however ive noticed if I purchase on line from them They offer the lower price that I as a business owner would pay membership card or not. If you ask me its costco making the playing field uneven, they become their own markets competition.

With the adage "something's only worth what others are willing to pay for it," if there are kooks who willingly pay $200 for a Sashimi then technically it's worth that much and they're not getting ripped off but instead paying fair market value lol

Exactly. Just like if somebody is willing to pay $1.3 mil for a 15' HotKarl assembled from used shipping pallets with a hi-tech 3D printed kevlar-titanium composite serrated fin then that is it's true value. Caveat emptor.

You can't make a statement that economic value is entirely subjective and then call it "true value."

I get what you guys are saying and I understand why panties should be un-bunched. I reiterate my original point, that some people are basically bothered by this because it is surfboards that he is selling. This is a bit romantic and idealistic, but looking at surfboards the same way that you look at bulk packages of ketchup is cold and realistic.

It is not logical to compare him to a restaurant owner as he is providing no service whatsoever; just a marked up product- perhaps with a side of deception.

Fair enough. "True value" is probably not the term I should have used but rather as EMass said "fair market value". Price is what you pay, value is what you get. As MIS pointed out, the seller is providing some added service if the buyer is too lazy, cheap or stupid to get his own Costco card.

That said, I do cringe when I see these ads on CL and feel bad for the folks that buy them. However, you are responsible for doing your own due diligence. If the buyer jumps on it without researching all of his options then that's on him.

It seems lame, but doesnt bother me. I look at it like this. If someone has access to craigslist, they are on the internet. They can simply do a quick google search and obtain all the information they need abut the CBC surfboard to be an educated buyer. No one is forcing them to but it from this guy. Of they choose to, hey thats on them.

And just like that, my side career as an economist is born.

Hey, who's in for a Ponzi scheme where we buy massive quantities of soft tops from Alibaba and open a distributorship pyramid where our resellers have resellers? We can all get rich quick and if these noobs are actually getting stoked off the foamies then we are doing a societal good!

He is saving me the hassle and cost of costco membership, I mean I know I could go to law school there if my Uncle would just pull a few strings, but he is saving me the trip to Costco,a worthwhile service

It's worth the 60 bucks if you don't like to paddle out in crowded summer chest hi waves with you new 600 board.

You don't have to worry about dings.

It's fun to ride but Tard is right, it takes a while to get use too. It's fast. It's kinda skatey and feels like a retro kinda style. Your turning is limited but still turns. It's really all about just making the wave with this board- not turning.

The fin placement is all wrong - too spread apart. And you'll want to invest in a traction pad.

All in all- it is a super fun board but takes a while to get use to. It's worth 60 bucks but it will ride like 60 bucks... At least you can ride over other ppls boards with it...
